SARS E-Filing 2019 OPEN!

Haven't followed the thread this year.

I'm getting more and more clients telling me that their employer is telling them that they are not issuing IRP5 certificates and it will be prepopulated on their tax return.

While this might be the case for most employees, I still have a few clients where the IRP5 does not pull through especially for foreign employees.

Just wondering if I've missed something from SARS as the last time I checked, issuing of IRP5 certificates is still a requirement?

Even though the irp5 is prepopulated, employers are required to still supply the irp5 to their employees.

That's my understanding. Just wondering if there was a change to this requirement since more of my clients are not getting their IRP5 certificates and their payroll department is telling them that they are no longer issuing them. This was even from from provincial department of health and education employees.

I have informed my clients to insist on getting it and ask the payroll department to show them where its not a requirement to issue the IRP5. I also normally keep a copy on file for all my clients going back 5 years in case there are issues down the line with SARS requesting documents.

Got mine this morning, submitted 9th July and audited. Provided docs on the 9th. So 3 weeks and 2 days for refund.

Hi All,

Has anyone come across this issue yet. When trying to do a correction it gives this error in green. There has been an error. Please try again or contact us if the problem persists (189981635). It seems to have started yesterday.

I've got a similar issue in that I have my IRP5 printout but it hasn't been loaded onto SARS yet.

It took more than a month, but I just got my SARS completion letter.

VERIFICATION OF ASSESSMENT
We refer to the verification of the assessment for the 2019 tax period. Please note that no adjustment has been made to this assessment. However, in terms of the Tax Administration Act the South African Revenue Service reserves the right to conduct further reviews in future if required.

Finally submitted mine yesterday. What a mission with all the banks, RAs and the damn FedGroup Impact Farming stuff.

But, as always, I get good service from them :whistling:
Filed yesterday, got my SOA today, payment will be made tomorrow :)

So on my return SARS did have my medical aid and cerificate details was prepopulated of course on their wizard. Was there a need for me to submit this certificate when they requested for documentation?

I only provided proof of medical expenses I paid for out of medical aid and the medical aid contributions I am paying for my folks

I think i did something wrong with the Impact farming, they doing a verification on my return.

So you didnt have to go in re: change of address?
Did you give them a call at all?

Feel very stupid asking this.... for the life of me... I cannot find my return on their new fancy website..... the only thing I can find is my previous returns and the inbox of letters they've sent me previously... please tell me I'm not a complete idiot?

Go to returns issued, then the option underneath that to load the page. Look on the very right, there's a drop down menu. Select 2019 and request, should populate the one you are familiar with

Yes. We are looking into that issue. Hopefully should be resolved soon.

I just pay somebody every year to do mine. R500 well spent. I never have issues (been audited once only).

I didn't go in no. When I uploaded supporting documents I'd just included my lease agreement, Old Mutual certificate and Discovery certificate, that was all. I did phone them around mid-July when they told me that I could have to wait up to three months, but didn't phone again since then ... after two weeks of silence, somebody just remembered me. Makes me think there is credence to the theory I've heard that SARS runs out of money for refunds and then just saves further refunds to the next month ... I mean, nothing for a month and then all of a sudden I get my letter on 1 August? Might just be coincidence, but I don't buy it.
