SARS eFiling 2024/2025

After giving Sars some basic accounting tips, they fixed my submission! And refund (or rather fix received). Done and dusted for 2025! See all your peeps in 2026 !

Seeing everyone have their caes finalised quickly gave me hope.

Should have posted this earlier - case finalised few seconds ago - sorry SARS take back my words :ROFL:
 
SARS retardation 101 :

I dug into my sars profile many months back and found 2x red flags for a late submission from 10 years ago. The submission is all done and finalized years ago, it was just late when it was done. So on the profile it says, "you owe R500 as a penalty for a late submission" so what do I do, I pay SARS for these 2x late submissions to clear this...

Do you think that R500 x2 is ever shown on your profile? nope, do you think there is any record of the R500 x2 having been received by them? nope. All I have is the FNB payment confirmation! So they have stolen my 2x R500 payments from long ago...

Now it says, because it is over 5 years old you must come in! I swear SARS IT efiling is a joke.

I have the same issues, but I had it reallocated because I had to resubmit documents. 19th September will be the 21 working days. It seems it going to take the full period.

It hasn't been allocated to a Sars official either. Does this mean I will have another 21 working days to wait on my return to be finalised?

Every interaction basically resets the counter - so once it is allocated to a SARS official they will have another 21 days to complete their verification or audit.
Some are lucky and have it completed in a day.
 
Yeah, I've been lucky in that I respond to their request for docs quickly and normally it gets resolved 2-3 days later.
 
I have a daughter with a disability, and she has a therapy dog which we got for her support. There is now a request for a certificate but this type of certification requires the dog to train for 1 year. What is the alternative

who issues the certificate or can you just submit any old one that says "Satan has completed X amount of time as a support dog"

I'd just make up a certificate for Satan (not your dog's real name)

The question SARS probably is asking is this service dog or not. SARS will easily approve a service dog who has been properly trained, e.g. a seeing dog for a visually impaired person. The organization who trained and provided the dog will be able to easily issue a certificate/letter explaining the training and certification of the dog even if it is still in progress. Note that SARS specifically refers to "trained to be used as an aid to perform daily functions". Attached is the document on qualifying expenses from SARS , although it only has 2 lines referring to service animals. It may be helpful for other expenses. 1758617045231.png

Thank you for the response. We got a dog in the Fin Year, and our dog is currently being trained as it takes 12 months of training. The certification will be granted upon completing the full training. I dont have the certification as yet. I do have the letter from the doctor

Thank you. We only currently have the obedience certificate. We are busy with the other certification.
 
So my tax residency in South Africa has ceased, however this happened after i paid in tax this year. Drive i work overseas i was audited at the time.

On efiling i logged a dispute on payment that that was successful and they reduced it to 0. However how do i now get the refund processed? I can’t submit a correction because it says f it was already audited and thus no need to adjust, but this impacts what was audited.

Anything i can do online?
 
Submitted the 3 set of documents requested by SARS audit. I haven't received a status update on where in the process this is.

Do you know if there is anyone experiencing indefinite delays on returns submitted?
 
If I was unemployed from 1 March 2025 to 1 Dec 2025 (when I started full time work), how many periods of unemployment is this?
The question doesn't make sense to me as the only values you can enter are 1-5?

For how many unbroken Period(s) were you unemployed?

There would be more periods if you were employed for a month inbetween
