SARS eFiling 2024/2025

Anyone that gets caught by this phishing is asleep. Paying SARS is done on the SARS e-filing website with push to pay. Why would you go an pay to another account number ?

did you send that email to FNB fraud, hopefully the account can be blocked.

I work from home 3 times a week, and since covid I have been claiming WFH with no issues.
This year I get this letter I need to send this: "
Employment contract or letter from Employer confirming the use of home office (stating why the taxpayer is required to perform work
from home as well as whether an office is provided at the employer's premises"

I do have an office and I go there twice a week, did something change ?is it even worth getting this letter and submitting it?

Reading the news, SARS is getting more stricter regarding WFH, and as per the news, the last year to claim WFH (as a perk)

SARS ending work from home in South Africa

The PSA has confirmed that SARS has withdrawn its work-from-home initiative for employees, now insisting on a full-time return to the office.

My manager simply said he can't provide me with a letter for SARS.
I will speak to him tomorrow as he didn't really say why....
I mean I am working from home and it's approved however I can go to the office should i choose to.
However I am also starting to think SARS will not approve my WFH this time, i can probably convince my manager to write that i am working from home but can come to the office but i assume SARS will not be refunding me then?
 
Doesn't look like i'll be able to meet the deadline.
is it better to wait until i get all the document?
submit what I have?
or should i rather remove my wfh claim.
 
The clowns at SARS spend all this resources to disallow home office claims yet does almost no background work on big fish politicians, cadres and crooked business people. Every person charged or even accused with any white collar crimes should automatically be investigated but sars. But that is too much work for them. Rather go after soft targets.

How much do you expect to get paid for WFH claim? Is it worth fighting for ? You only can decide.
 
Alright I managed to get the letter and submit and it was approved .
but now I am very confused, not sure why the assessment have to be so confusing.

so lets say my original assessment was R10000, and after I submitted all the documents it was reduced to R5000.
now the site it showing I owe R5000 but the 10k wasn't paid to me, so they owe me 5k?
or am i missing something?
Also not sure why it was changed, I am renting my property and I see they removed some items like maintenance fee, insurance and agency fees.....is it worth questioning
 
Zero complaints again. Just finished off my wife and my annual returns.

SARS just queried crypto purchases so provided the details and within 48 hours both were finalised without changes.

Was only done on the last week due to being provisional tax payers and owing SARS so ZERO need to pay earlier
