She needs to pay in, I need to get a refund. So apparent SARS has run out of money.

They asked me to submit supporting documents on 15/7/2026 for verification and I done so the same day.
I received a notification today that I have been allocated to a SARS official and the verification process has started.
So is it 21-days from now or 21-days from the 15th?

So after some more intensive Googling over the weekend and some calls Mon & Tue I tracked down the “ employer” and got the details of their bookkeeper.Logged in to file my tax return.
Found a second IRP5 on my tax return from a completely unknown "employer".
SARS call center in their infinite wisdom informs me that I need to contact the employer and they need to correct the IRP5. What part of unknown party do they not understand? Even a Google search does not return any results with the exact name stated on the IRP5.
First available appointment at a branch is in mid August and involves a round trip of more than 400km.
Fun times...![]()
That bookkeeper owes you a quality bottle of wine.So after some more intensive Googling over the weekend and some calls Mon & Tue I tracked down the “ employer” and got the details of their bookkeeper.
A clerk swopped two digits on the actual employee’s ID number and that resulted in mine being used on the IRP5 submitted to SARS.
Bookkeeper withdrew the incorrect one on my name and resubmitted the correct one.
I’ve been requesting updated IRP5 details on efiling every 12 hours and happy days! Second IRP5 disappeared this afternoon. Will be submitting this evening and hope I won’t be selected for auditing again.
