SARS suffering from eFiling problems

You make no sense.

You say R450 gets DEDUCTED? Don't you mean it gets added?

Do you pay a debit order of R900 or not? Does the certificate from the medical aid have R900 x 12 on it?

Or do you have no debit order and the company pays all of it to the medical aid?

If you have a direct debit order then you are paying for it and should claim for it directly. If the company is paying the entire R900 on your behalf then it's already been added to your tax by your company.

Then its all calculated for you if your company does the deduction for you..

I'm just battling to find out how it works if my company contributes nothing, and knows nothing about my medical aid..

Okay I see it's on my IRP5 form but it wasn't in the Efiling form so I just filled it in there 4116. Hopefully that was right.

Right, the age-old question regarding the log book. I know it's been done over and over already, but does someone have an example that I can see? In the form of a screen shot with necessary information blurred out if need be.

So basically R450 is deducted from my salary before it get paid into my account. Im assuming the company does their own payment for the other half. My certifcate shows R450 x 12. I filed earlier today, and added in the extra amount spent on medication.

I'm due a small refund, how long does it take normally?

From being filed and being in my account look less than 31 hours...

Alas. Got verification / audited as Yes. Submitted the additional documents. Hoping it is enough

Lucky you. I tried to submit additional documents via e-filing but it was rejected four times. The first time it was rejected, I received a letter to inform me that I need to file an appeal.
Then I filed an appeal and it was rejected, followed by a letter that I need to file a notice of objection.
I filed the notice of objection and received another letter informing me that my objection was out of sequence.
In the end I copied all the documents and sent it by registered post.

I attached the original electronic documents from the medical fund and RAs. I'm trying to figure out the logic behind when you are 'audited' or not. But I suspect it is a combination of the amount and changes in your tax profile e.g. I didn't have local interest this year.
