Holy cr@p! what TV's cost over 30k nowdays???
This is bull****. I don't pay taxes just so the guy who stole my car can catch his 5:30pm Izidingo.
I want a referendum for hard labour in our prisons
F*** this ****!
FFS. This stuff makes me so angry. People are screaming for housing and we are instead wasting money on scum that choose not to be part of the South African community. I second the call for hard labour. Let these bastards work for their food, bed and TV.
The Sizwe Group headed by media personality Tim Modise was awarded the tender.
The department ordered 50 LCD monitors valued at over R15,000 each to be installed in the prison cells just before the World Cup.
Modise said it took technicians about 10 days to install the television sets.
they are 52 Inch Sony LED Bravia's charna, 30K a pop.

Something doesn't add up here. 50 x R15,000 is R750,000 which is half what was originally reported.
