So the destinations the 8 franchise teams can chose from has been announced.

Suspect Cape Town, Durban,Pretoria and Joburg will snapped up quickly.

Probably PE and Bloem then at lower bids. Will be interesting to see who gets the last 2 spots.

Some info we know so far:
-All of the 8 teams get assigned one protea and one overseas Marque player.
-Rest goes into auction
-2 rookie players need to be included in squad.
-Only players eligible for proteas will be considered as local.
-4 foreign players per squad

Who would be a team owner? Could the Guptas potentially buy a team?

nah if a Kolpak counts as international that is fine.
do not punish someone like Abbot for knowing that he will always be third or fourth on the list for the proteas.
punish a guy like RR who has a spot, and who has been giving a chance to play despite scoring ducks. and the best way to do that is on a franchise level to simply ignore him and not buy him.

my bet for 8 teams.

JHB
CPT
DBN
PE
Benoni
Potch.

Yay for Benoni, also, I'd like to see RR playing here again. He's a natural fit for the Sahara team...

the way I see it, Benoni and Potch are the only other venues we play international cricket at, that is where we should be putting the teams.
and I am pretty sure the Benoni Team will be owned by the Gupta's because Sahara is the main sponsor of the ground.

Is Buffalo Park still a venue? Seems like ages there was last cricket there...

in the last T20 series there was at least one game there.
Titans vs WArriors.
rain shortened play. 5 overs per side.
Berhardien scored 55 of 15 balls

Of the smaller venues potch and kimberley have the best facilities and produce the best pitches.

If I were picking:

Newlands
Kingsmead
Wanderers
Supersport Park
Senwes Park
Diamond Oval
Mangaung Oval
St.George's park
