SAT-3 repairs are taking longer than expected

The fault on SAT-3 was caused by a break in the cable 180km from Goonhilly, at the landing station in Portugal

if I understand the above statement properly Goonhilly is 180km from the landing station in Portugal (Sesimbra)but isn't Goonhilly in the UK and and isn't it also a landing station for SMW3???

How far is the UK from Portugal?

AFAIK Goonhilly is in England, SW of Plymouth... (close to where my sister lives!)

It's not SAT-3 that's down, but some onward connectivity in Europe, beyond the SAT-3 landing in Portugal. Except for those carriers that use the specific cable, everyone else using SAT-3 is fine.

I have such terrible latency since this started, and still have terrible latency..... cannot wait till its sorted
