Satrix - people still using them?

You guys are investing in Micky Mouse shares here.

Well...we are not all natural born traders that are interested in sitting in front of a monitor with share prices scrolling over it and selling and buying etc. This is a easy enough way for guys like me who want to have some kind of long term investment and that is affordable. Not everyone has got the money to play the markets.

LOL, cheaper is better, especially around the debit order time, more shares for cheaper, meaning more dividends come that time...

I will take your word for it. Not doing the debit order for now. As and when I come into a bit of extra dosh I will fill in another form and add to my existing ones. When I do do that, I think I am going to add it to my DIVI one.

You have to fill in forms? :erm: Don't they do electronic transfers?

Yes you give them the money via EFT...but you need to complete the forms to show them how much you giving in total and how you want that total amount to be broken down into the different products such ans Top 40, DIVI and RESI etc etc.

Well...called them this morning to find out what is going on. Have not received any SMS or emails back. The lady I spoke to was very efficient and helpful. Asked me to mail the application direclty to her. 10 Minutes later I got a SMS to say that my application is with admin and they will contact me should they require anything else.

Well..got a SMS from Satrix just now giving me my client number and saying confirmation of my account will reach me shortly. I assume I have to wait for this confirmation before I can create a log in on their website to see my millions rolliing in???? :p

All and all I have to say, it was a very painless experience. Easy and quick. Just the thing us noobs need to get some money invested I think. hehe

Geez...I'm pissed off at them atm. Opened an account for my daughter - easy. Requested to stop debit orders on my account and transfer 100% of my portfolio to new account - not so easy. I swear of those debit orders go off twice this month I'm going to strangle somebody. :p

But normally their client service is really good.

Oh well, I tried but you guys can stick to your Mickey Mouse 7% PA if that makes you happy. My investments that are very safe, gives a return of 65%PA and has been doing so for years. So we all happy now that inflation eats up the 7%. Yahooo.

If your investments are making 65% per annum I take it you are no longer working?

A meagre R50,000 would be worth around R1,000,000 after five years? R10,000,000 odd after 10 years.

So then why dont you tell us your secret and how you get this 65% PA?

He did, guess you missed it. He's invested in two shares, AVI and mmm forgot the other one again.

What the hell is AVI and how do I get it?

Guess I will have to go search the thread now. *sigh*...so tired

/goes smoke first.

EDIT: Searched but cant see him mentioning anything specific. Something about a forum where you can ask questions...but not how or where he invested.

Oh, and AVI makes a lot of the things you eat. And they are on Satrix Divi.

And the other one is Coronation Fund Mngrs Ltd (CML). Also on Divi.

Well, acrording to him its (divi) mickey mouse stuff. But then again he had like a R1 million to invest...

Well...then I dont think it is really fair of him compare his investments with the Mickey Mouse investments of people like me that is surviving on 2 minute noodles and tuna (ok not that bad but you get my drift lol)

I could only spare R3000.00 now....and as you said...he had a crap load...so...what you gonna do.

You can indeed compare.

It is % return.

That's what's being compared.
