Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021) 6.5/10

Pretty decent, lots of social commentary at play. Different direction was pretty smooth with a familiar formula. Chris Rock was pretty good.
 
What a kak movie.

Because some have not watched it I won't spoil it by saying why I think is so kak.
 
You have to look at it in one of two ways. Either as another Saw movie or as a horror movie.

As a "Saw" movie it ties in pretty well with the franchise.

As a horror movie it is terrible. I have never liked Chris Rock and his "acting" in here is beyond bad.
 
I think they tried to cash in on the SAW franchise and threw a bunch of shyte together and hoped it would appeal to the SAW crowd when it came to the gadgets used in the killing otherwise, yes, it could have been just a horror movie like millions of others out there.

Because of Chris Rock, they had to have Samuel L. Jackson or because of Samuel L. Jackson they had to have Chris Rock because of the vocabulary used. Like Father like Son of the other way round. We all know how Samuel talks and who better to be his son BUT Chris Rock with his stand up speak? He should maybe stick to standup because his acting is not great but having said that, there are actors and I mean real actors who are household names who are SHYTE!!

On a side note, I wonder how a magician got a part in this movie?

lol yeah Ive seen heads and bodies walk across my screen in my cam videos like black ghosts.

He’s still as whiny as ever, couldn’t get past the first 20mins. Eventually just skip watched it and it was pretty predictable. The gory parts were pretty nasty.
 
There’s more “Saw” to cut through in 2023, as Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures have just announced the next installment of the billion-dollar franchise will arrive with a new movie slated for Oct. 27, 2023. This will be the tenth movie in the highly successful franchise.

I hope its not as bad as Spiral, i could not finish that terrible movie. I have seen all the saw movies and i still have the first film on dvd
