Could not find a better forum to post this, but watch out for this scam!
www.freebiesms.co.za advertises you can send SMS for free to Vodacom, MTN, CellC and more from their website. The small print at the bottom says something like "Free to send. The receiver has the option to pay R15 to view the SMS"... WTF?
BTW, even the "option" part is bull.....
My wife received an SMS telling her that I sent her an SMS (which is not true), but she must either pay R15.00 or One Great Britain Pound (also about R15?) or post an advertising link to their website on her webpage... problem is she does not have a webpage, nor blog...
What a load of crap. This is simply a scam. I sent no SMS as we are in constant email contact.
I have 100 free SMS a month from Vodacon in my Talk 500 contract, which I hardly make a dent in so I don't mind sending SMS if I need to.
Try to find contact details for these guys so that I can give them an earful... nothing, nada on their website.
This kind of crap should be stopped! Who do we report this to?
