My son finished matric last year (2010) and did not have science as a subject. He has now decided to follow a career where science is needed as a matric subject, so what are our options, can he just do science as a single subject at a college in a short few months?

yeah he can do his N1, N2, and N3 at college, maybe N4 as well in case some people complain and say that N3 is not on par with matric

I'm a bit confused, it's difficult to understand that he now wants to follow a carreer in science but chose not to study it in school. Does he have any passion for it?

He doesn't want to do science as a career, he wants to be a motor mechanic, but you need matric science which he doesn't have

Intresting, I always thought you could learn that through an apprenticeship, even with just a std 8. Wonder why Matric Science is required.
