Scientists have misled the public - Tim Noakes

When you on a low carb diet your body is very efficient in burning fat. So basically I'm getting my energy from my body fat.

But yes, it would be very difficult for a person on a high carb diet.

Are you still losing weight or at target weight?

Can this be sustained if you're no longer overweight? Enough fat in the meat you're eating basically?

I can't see myself not eating bread
I eat bread as a treat these days. I buy the best bread I can get my hands on. Same with chocolate/desserts/etc, I buy the best-tasting variants I can find so that when I have it, the sacrifice is worth it.

Yes, I am on my target weight.

I control my weight by the amount of fat I comsume. Cream in my coffee does help.
I'm finding that my fat intake doesn't have any effect on the weight, which I like since most lean meats have poor flavour anyways, aside from game.

There's no medical drug or naturally sourced supplement as effective against chronic disease/illness as cutting sugar, seed oils, refined carbs, and doing resistance training.

This is why I do not accept the covid/narrative.

I'm not sure why there is such pushback against this, even with the vaccines not being the promised silver bullet.

I have been 100kg's of pure fat, 85kgs of pure muscle and currently a very slender 72kg's (runner) not having the extra weight on your body especially as you get older makes you feel significantly better. I see this in my old gym buddies who are always complaining about their something.

So I agree with everything but the resistance training, cardio based training (I think) gives you a better overall health.

On a side note I don't really believe in Noakes diets he has got it wrong so often but his comrades training plans are the best in the business.

You'll need to add resistance training in conjunction with your running. Just have a look at most professional longer distance runners. This drastically reduces your injuries. It's kind of why trail running is better than road running. You get extra strength training of your supporting muscles by virtue of the uneven terrain.
Problem with many guys in the gym is that muscle size is more important than usage. So no need to worry about issues like flexibility or mobility.

Nah people following these diets are living research subjects that can be used to further the understanding of nutrition.
It's ironic that his carb based diet is considered more credible mostly due to a large portion of people growing up with or being taught that. Changing perceptions is always hard, but hopefully there will be more scientific evidence to support this as said subjects are studied.

Yeah but you don't need a gym contract or heavy weights just some body weight exercises and/or cross training with bike/swimming/yoga

The banting type diet does work I lost all my weight that way but the problem with any diet is they are not maintainable you need something that makes a fundamental "shift" in the way you live. The Banting diet makes you feel ill/tired, stomach not work, bad breath and isnt great for running as you don't have the proper fuel so you aren't achieving the "shift" because of the side effects.

You have to be able to eat a pizza once a week but eat in such a way that you can accommodate that without putting on weight. I look at these fasting guys with big eyes only being able to eat once every 18 hours, the diet will work for a month or two and then people start putting on weight again for example of diets not working.

The problem with noakes, is people to this day still think that fat makes you fat even though he corrected it.

True, bodyweight exercises can get you quite far. Just look at calisthenics. Although proper weighted squats is arguably one of the best exercises. Not everyone has a bar at home. Although two dumbbells or such can work. Using other household items can work, but I find it is just too cumbersome. Some also find gym membership a good way to stay motivated or have it form a routine.

It seems to effect people differently. I followed banting for a year or two while having an physical job and being quite active with trial running/mtb'ing. I never ran into issues with feeling tired. That being said my normal runs never went above 20km The longest was the 3 day Sox trial run (30, 30, 20).

I didn't really lose weight doing that, probably muscle gain from the exercise?

I did gain 20kg over two years when I switched back to an office job, stopped exercising and ate less healthy.
Lost it all in one month by not eating anything. So a more extreme version of fasting I guess.
I haven't gained it back in over two years by going back to a more typical diet while trying to focus on higher fat/protein intake. I still have pizza once every week or two as well as pasta.

When I started getting lazy in terms of lunch, by easting sandwiches every day I did notice a slight gain.
Interestingly I can't go for an intense cardio workout after having bread or a typical porridge breakfast. No problems though if I had a fatty breakfast.

Yeah fat is your friend. I can't believe I followed a low fat diet when I was younger.

I do free Yoga on the roof of a shopping center across the road from me once a week. I actually cant believe how strong you get from that its crazy, I can from a sitting position get myself into a handstand. I havent been able to do a handstand ever so its been a cool experience and I have completely gone of weights because of this.

With the running I am doing around 70km a week and I could still lose another 5kg's but have never been able to lose it so I know what you mean.

I think its a bit of give and take once you have a routine, eat X for 2 weeks and see if the scale shifts if not you keep it in your diet then try the same with Y, everyones body behaves differently. My GF for instance eats as much as me doesn't put on weight and is half my size.
