Scolari sacked

wow! was busy with work so only seen it now on the bbc site.Yep it was only a matter of time before they got rid of him.

Luiz Felipe Scolari has been sacked as manager of Chelsea.

A statement on the club's website revealed the move had been made "to maintain a challenge for the trophies we are still competing for".

Scolari, who led Brazil to the 2002 World Cup, was appointed in June 2008 as the replacement for Avram Grant.

Chelsea, fourth in the Premier League and seven points behind Manchester United, will be led by assistant Ray Wilkins on an interim basis.

Manager Scolari sacked by Chelsea

Luiz Felipe Scolari has been sacked as manager of Chelsea.

A statement on the club's website revealed the move had been made "to maintain a challenge for the trophies we are still competing for".

Scolari, who led Brazil to their 2002 World Cup win, was appointed in June as the replacement for Avram Grant.

Chelsea, fourth in the Premier League and seven points behind Manchester United, will be led by assistant Ray Wilkins on an interim basis.

"Luiz Felipe Scolari has been dismissed as manager of Chelsea Football Club with immediate effect," read the statement. "The Chelsea board would like to place on record our gratitude for his time as manager.

"Felipe has brought many positives to the club since he joined and we all feel a sense of sadness that our relationship has ended so soon.

"Unfortunately the results and performances of the team appeared to be deteriorating at a key time in the season.

"In order to maintain a challenge for the trophies we are still competing for we felt the only option was to make the change now.

"The search for a new manager has already started and we hope to have someone in place as soon as possible."

A banner unfurled during Chelsea's 0-0 draw with Hull at Stamford Bridge on Saturday called for the installation of West Ham boss and former Blues favourite Gianfranco Zola as manager.

But West Ham vice chairman Ausgier Fridgeirsson told BBC Sport the club has had no contact from Chelsea regarding Zola, who replaced Alan Curbishley at Upton Park in September, or former Chelsea coach Steve Clarke, Zola's current assistant.

What ever happened to giving the manager TIME? First Grant now Scolari. Wonder who will be stupid enough to take the job now.

Who ever it is will be stupid to take a job where the owner wants to pick the team and demands instant success.
I don't think they'll be able to replace The Special one. He was to Chelsea what Fergie is to United, what Shankley was to Liverpool, what Wenger is to...wait looks like Arsenal fans are getting tired of Wenger :) (joking)

Congratulations Chelsea, you have become the new Inter Milan. Continuity is obviously a word that is not found in your dictionary. Look at Chelsea today and you can remember Mou's last season when Roman (the unwise) did not want to buy any defenders during the January transfer period even though they clearly needed them. That was the beginning of the end. Good coaches don't come every day and Gus will not be a panacea, no matter how much Roman hopes it so.

Good luck Blues, you sure are going to be singing them.;)

possible list of coaches:
1. Frank Rijkaard
2. Avram Grant
3. Roberto Mancini

i personally think Frank

Eish, so will it be a case of a relatively another unknown filler coach taking them within grasp of a trophy and then getting fired again?

Roman is not an easy man to please

Jose didn't need time.;)

Mancini is the best of those 3.

Chelsea would love to be us. Our historic record speaks for us. One of the most succesfull clubs of all time, would have been more succesfull as well if it hadn't been for the moggi system in the last 15 years.

I think Frank is the best coach out there at the moment.

He will make Chelsea play fast attacking/stylish football. Something lacking even in MOANOrinho's boring gameplan.

They said the same about scolari.;) I would rather have a winner like jose or capello than someone who plays attractive football.

No reason why attractive football cannot win matches. Look at Barcelona ;)

Inter are playing the typical football that MOANorinho introduced at Chelsea. Reason why they could never lift the CL maybe.

Why don't roma or arsenal winning anything then?? They have played attractive football for many years now but win the trophies.

Inter failed in the cl because of tactical errors from mancini when it came to the knockout stage. Luck also played its part with major injuries to the centrebacks or the cental midfielders in the last two years.

We are perfectly happy with mou's type of football. We love our tactical football. Other clubs fans might not like it but we love it. Herrera is still our greatest manager of all time and he introduced cattenacio. Hated by all other fans but loved by us interisti.

Arsenal will never win anything if they do not buy some experience to support all the youngsters.

Inter are playing dull boring football at the moment. I hope they knock United out but when i watch them play they sure dont look like a team that is sitting on top of the Serie A.

Results is what counts not style. We play our own way. Like I said before if you like tactical football you would understand the beaty in what Jose's sides do.

If you dislike that type of football you will find it boring.

I love to watch jose and capello teams plays. The way they go about dismantling the opposition teams in their mechanical way is brilliant.

I love tactical football. There is a thin line between tactical and plain boring football.

The style Jose plays - long ball attacks. Not my style, i love teams that can play flowing football that opens defences up. Teams that keep possession and have the other team running all day trying to touch the ball.

Teams like Inter who score one goal and close shop to defend a single goal is not my style.
