Dude, Carbonite has zero tolerance of scammers too, and I’ve never seen them allow a thread where people are sharing photos of scammers and discussing their personal lives in daily memes. Why does MyBB always need to be a click-bait platform, where even drama like this is tolerated for the sake of the clicks? They’re one good defamation case away from an attitude adjustment, it’s just a question of when it comes and who will be serving it.

He was here, lying after taking people's money well after he knew he was bankrupt.
Then, he stopped posting here after his lying about liquidating the company.

He is not here to defend himself by his own choice. He can come back any time and clear his name. Until then, people should be warned against someone who appears to have acted without scruples.

They're random internet photos and made up stories.

Warning people is one thing. Paul can post daily bumps to a news post talking about the controversy and cautioning people to not place orders via the website (which is still active I see). Posting memes of Scott’s photo and implying knowledge of his personal motivations, up to and including images of children and discussing Scott’s family for the sake of attacking him, is not ok.

He can try, between the username not linking back to me, and the email address on here going to Proton i would love to him try. He certainly has the money to hire good lawyers ;)

I learned a few things since my early IRC days until now:
1. What people think of you on the internet is largely irrelevant because we are very very rarely a complete representation of ourselves online. To some degree, the internet allows people to be closer to thresholds than they would be in person.
2. Like people sitting at a coffee shop talking, gossiping, throwing their opinions around, a forum or chat online attracts people to make comments, post how they're feeling etc. Its very nature is to attract conversation, opinions etc.
3. Take everything with a spoonful of salt, find the humor, enjoy the discussion. Scott did this to himself. We're not forming a physical mob or trying to track him down on his boat to do a mob attack. Its an online forum.

That said, we do still need to care about people and if you feel so strongly bothered by what is said here, perhaps don't read the thread anymore? Its not like no one is speaking to you, you're part of this little community., You have the right to your opinion and feelings and we'll still love you if you don't wanna partake in this thread. :)

He ran a business, his real name is public nothing was dox'd, none of his personal details or family life have been revealed, they are parody memes not real pictures of his family. I have no idea if he even has children.

And no one ran to Mybb like weaklings you lowlife, he ripped off people on the forum and I’m glad people stood up and spoke out about it so no more people could get ripped off. Posting on a forum is often victims only avenue to seek justice in South Africa because our law enforcement is useless and when people come together sometimes the combined effort can make a difference to bring people to book.

Great, now that we’re progressed to the anticipated namecalling phase (you gutter-scrubbing turd face), we can move on and leave this in the hands of the courts. The difference between a conversational gossip between two friends in a cafe and an ongoing defamatory campaign against an individual on MyBB is publication and the secondary audience being exposed to the messages. Protect people against scammers by all means, but this is not the way.

That’s a defence to mitigate against defamation, but even then you can’t defend yourself against defamation by deliberately spreading lies or exaggerations (no matter how funny you think they are).

Can a user be prosecuted for something they post on a forum?

But anyway, the guy (intentionally or not) screwed over a bunch of people & had a pretty lax & kak attitude about the whole thing so if the only price he pays is one person posting some dumb jokes on forum then I'd say he got off easy.

My “outrage” is simply me tiring of a dead horse being whipped by someone just adding more evidence every day for a pretty compelling case of defamation, as this case is exposed to a larger group of casual viewers who don’t have all the facts and and are only receiving news of it via defamatory memes.

I’ve never seen MyBB tolerating a personal attack lasting this long on any other thread, far less when it’s against a person’s IRL name and affairs.

It’s an online forum where we all share our opinions and views on public info. Dude is a scum bag. If he is concerned about my posts he can come defend himself; if he wants to sue me RPM has my details from when I won something lol

Why are you so worried when Scott doesn’t seem to care?

Why is he not the problem with societies degradation? But memes from Paul bother you? lol
