Screamer WiMax

Now that the IP is public, is it possible to make use of the static IP on the router itself as apposed to the current NAT solution? ....or are you guys still getting to that?

Wut? I can reach my PC from my public IP fine. Yours should work, there is no NAT anymore

I will look into your MTN NS issue.

Most probably not your fault. MTN NS do not understand how the internet works and they URPF announcements through JINX and anything except direct peers, because they think they are a DFZ or something....

I'm bitching from both sides untill it works, assuming your RIS entries are all above board etc...

My connection was EXCELLENT for a day, Tuesday. From Wednesday onwards crap connection again. This really sucks

9 emails to Screamer support.

Not one reply.

You should be embarassed about where you work, Howzit.

Manny should be giving you a call in the next hour because our feedback from Potch is that there is a vast improvement in general.

The reason you are not getting a general response is that you MTN query is with our tech dir who is finding our why it is taking MTN sooo long to accept our IP range and I have been communicating with you via this forum. That is the problem with multiple contact points.

Yup, for sure... but I expect it is a dynamic IP... I've been paying for a really ****ty Static IP service @ R35 per month and would love it if I can just set that IP on my router now.

Thank you Screamer. I must say, things looks very much better now. Even my vodacom ip number is not blaclisted anymore, and sprrds are generally good for my purpose of using the internet.

1 Meg line to Jhb

to my servers location in dallas

As you can see, my international speed is even better than local, just the way I want it.

Now please, keep it like this, don't break it again, don't fix it again, because it ant broken anymore.

Howzit, glad to see you are back on the board again.

Hi howzit,
im hoping you can help me with this problem.

I have been a screamer client since last year November and ever since have had some up and downs but more good times then bad.

Recently i see the NAT system you guys were using has been abandoned for our own dynamic Ip's :) all great but ive been left with a problem.

I'm using the Screamer Uncapped 384 Wimax deal
My latency to JHB,Midrand and PTA speedtest servers are very high and unacceptable but look at the upload speeds.....Shocking....

Take a look

Midrand:

JHB

PTA

Their is something very wrong with my screamer experience....

Im not here to slander people, merely to share and open to any type of help or assistance i may get. I primarily do alot of rapidshare downloading and that's why i decided to sign up with you guys, now thats still works fine and other than the occasionaly dissconnects of grown so accustomed to i can deal with that but atm online browsing takes forever (i mean 30-45 seconds to load a single webpage with no downloading on the line just me browsing is far from normal) and im guessing it's the upload thing??

Occasional CS:S matches or even some COD6 is a thing of the past as the latency is to high to consider such a thing and well the COD6 p2p match making thing doesn't help at all.

This all started about 3 months ago and i tried calling the tech support many times them just telling me to reset the cpe.... so i gave up on them and decided the best way is to wait out the storm that has been all the problems Ive experienced over the past months.

I signed up with screamer for the amazing package they offered, install was quick service great even tech support was very good but what happened....?

I'm just hoping you'll be able to resolve this as soon as possible i feel left in the dark... all these isp's having their uncapped price wars are starting to get to me... maybe i should just abandon ship pay the enemy (telkom) and get a 4mbps uncapped line + line rental for less than double what im paying you guys.

Lets just resolve this and forget it ever happened....

Ill provide you with all the details through PM

Thanks for your time hopefully we can find a solution here :)

Yes vast improvement for one day. Lol don't know how that happened, but overall by connection is the same again as always.

last night another stable night for wow.
avg latency was about 450ms. sofar that is keeping me pretty happy :D

My connection paints a different picture and I am still awaiting feedback from Howzit:

700ms on both WoW on Ventrillo tonight.

Good luck Diego ... I tried for 18 months and gave up.

Btw you can't trace into Blizzard's network's hence the reason for the failure in your trace above.

I know but the 600ms hops are on the upstream and not in telia network :P

Past two days my internet was unusable. Download speeds of 5kb/s

This is unacceptable. It is 12.5% of what I pay for. Screamer, I want 87.5% of my money back. You are breaking the contract that I signed.

Oh but wait, you don't give a #$%, so guess you will keep stealing my money because I don't have an alternative internet service provider.

I had simaliar problem.

it turned out the wimax installer didn't fastn the wimax transmitter to the pole tight enough thus it moved slightly of target to the tower i was assigned to. This resulted in very poor speeds and great packet loss. Try phone the people/3rd party who installed your wimax equipment or talk to howzit by sending him a pm , he helped resolve my issue and now everythings working a o.k :)

Has anyone else noticed the huge improvement on the Screamer network since the upgrade?

Huge frigging improvement!!!!!

2 days ago I started getting lag spikes on 25 man runs in WOW and thought "Oh no, don't tell me they have changed something again"

I then checked my system and noticed that because the connection had been running so well I had not closed any of the mail and download apps I used to close before playing WOW and ....wait for it... I had run out of memory :)

I upgraded my memory to 4Gigs yesterday and now play WOW, download and receive mail at the same time and no probs on the Screamer connection.

I believe now I have also have a free static public IP address?? What can I do with this?
