Screamer WiMax

Thought this was at 00:30 though - was expecting it at this time. On the positive the connection was perfect thereafter ... yeah I know I get to bed really late on weekends :D

Got this at 19:19 tonight just as I got back from home -

Hi

You picked up the minute that we switched off the power to do a battery changover

Haha .... howzat for timing :)

Yep, the engineers know that if our NOC (Network Operating Centre) ever goes down they can just give you a call and ask you to keep an eye on things....:)

I have been experiencing this since yesterday at around 16:00.
It happens roughly every 5 minutes and is quite annoying as I cannot maintain a connection to my on-line games.

I left the ping running through the night and there has been no change.

Hi Mig

As noted before we were changing batteries on our network last night but this should have stopped by now.
Please let me know if you are still getting disconnects.

Thanks

This issue is not new, in fact I have made it a habbit to leave a ping running in the background so that when I experience a disconnect in-game I can quickly validate where the problem is and when a connection has been re-established.

It has simply become more regular.

This seems to be consistent with my experience - I noticed it for the first time when I got home from work on Wednesday evening.

the screamer invoice is the only one i receive with a smile on my face each month :D

the service has been truly amazing, thanks to howzit and the screamer team.

Charl

Just like to bump this post again as they did exactly this again :)

They actually do care that you get what you pay for.

We're not posting problems to knock them... Screamer kicks ass!!

Just hoping someone either knows what the problem is (client side config) or knows that there is maintenance being done (screamer side).

Either way, I am sure it will be resolved.

Just a quick question , could a reason for the international latency be due to this :

http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=182287

because local rocks especially when combined with gamemax

I think this may be part of the problem - will check later but Screamer would be in a better position to answer of course.

And yes ... what I like about Screamer is that I can actually get to speak to someone that is concerned about resolving my issues.

Just dropped in at home en route to a meeting .... was working fine but just had another disconnect to your DNS (172.17.0.10). Seems like the problem is not limited to international traffic.

Thanks for the comments guys/gamers (or both)

We are all jumping through hoops to try and make sure that the disruptions to our international connections is not affecting your latencies but I am afraid that there are some problems which will slow latency.
As soon as I have a resolution date I will post it.

The brains have done some blending with our satellite connection and seem to have got things a lot better. Please test and let me know

One question what latency do you get in WoW through screamer wimax, and also I live in Wilgeheuwel, Roodepoort, cnr of Hendrick Potgieter and Nick Diedricks, is there coverage there?
