Hi there

Hope you can help out a SCSI noob here. I might pick up a scanner, an older one, that uses a SCSI II interface. What might be the best way to use this scanner, will I need to install a SCSI card? If so, any pointers to a source? Anyone got one lying around and want a couple bucks for it?

Are there any locally available adaptors for using usb or fire wire instead?

Normally those scsi scanners include the card and it might be ISA slot. Can't say I've seen any usb/firewire converters.

Hi there

Thanks for the help, so I guess that its useless trying to use a scanner like this on a modern system.

If i were you, i'd rather get a decent USB scanner.
Those damm SCSI scanners can be a bastard to get working.

+1 Drivers for the card and scanner on newer OS would be a concern. I've a scanner (parallel port) that I can't use for that same reason.
