Hey guys

Need some assistance, hoping I have foot to stand on.

Bought a car less than 2 months ago from wingfield motors goodwood. They have been in the business of selling cars for quite a long time, and thought everything will be fine

Actual deal went fine and car is also fine, only really noticed the one massive issue when I went bosch check for discovery warranty.

The car was in accident from the side, but it was repaired decently hence me not picking it up. Bosch pointed out the small panel cap and the overspray. The cap is back door, which never really use.

Can I return the car under cpa? As car is defective as they never declared the damage and accident. They told me car went through dekra and everything was fine with no accidents reported.

Car is financed by wesbank, so thinking of getting them involved if I must and ombudsman. I will go as far as getting a banner, if I must.

Probably driving car back there Monday and making a scene.

Any advice would be helpful.
 
Nah man most of these dealers knows someone at these test, i bought a car a few years ago test was passed but there were certain lights that was fused and tyres at the back was bald

Or the repair wasn't done through insurance and approved panel beaters to keep it off the books.

They unplugged my brother in law check engine light so that everything looks fine lol

Yeah indeed the previous owner seems to have had some cash. She fitted pretty expensive tyres at R3100 a pop and had cer serviced fully before trading it in also. All invoices was there, but yeah no invoice for that repair lol

Wingfield has been dodgy for years. Talking at least 20 years back where a guy bought a Hyundai from them ... also damage was NOT declared.

Took ages and litigation by buyer.
 
This is really unfortunate, but sadly it happens far more often than not.
It is hit and miss these days with 2nd hand cars.

You are covered by the CPA, they will most probably put up a fight.
Otherwise go to the media.
Dealers will do anything to make a sale.

So waiting for derick to call me back, he seems be the guy that can sort this out.
 
Not sure how the car is defective if it was repaired in such a way that it went unnoticed for 2 months?
I'm not defending scumbag 2nd hand dealers here, but its the risk of buying 2nd hand.
