If I buy the new HD Decoder (Sningle View). Do I use the same smart card as the one I'm currently using in my 990 Decoder?

Our office decoder is close to failure now. Restarts by itself and takes ages to scan and reboot. Can just as well spend a bit more and get the HD decoder instead of just exchanging for SD again.

Want to send my driver to go and purchase the new HD Decoder but I do not have all the paperwork and ID required of the other business partner to do a smartcard change as well.

Thanks in advance.

Each decoder is married to a specific card so, no. You don't need any paper work to activate a new card/machine over the phone just his ID number, initials and surname, address and phone number.

Thanks. Was hoping to just plug and play.

Perhaps one of the DSTV shops close to us can assist when I send the driver with all the details, old decoder and smartcard. I am going to buy the decoder from them after all so will be nice if they help out.

Ja, actually they'll probably happily sell you and activate the new one without any ID or paper work.

As a replacement I mean.

So they helped us without a problem.

Stupid question but does the Supersport Channels display the HD logo or not? How do I know it is showing HD?

Can't really see much of a difference between this and the old decoder.

Did you an hdmi cable to connect the decoder to an Hd TV?

Well there we go.

Took the decoder home with me to watch the rugby. Still no HD the whole of yesterday or today.

But then suddenly 30min ago while watching the tennis the decoder gave a smart card error and reconnected 5sec later. Only this time the quality was amazing and the HD logo of Supersport now appeared.

Wonder why it took so long.
