Sea Point Exchange Down

Well, I just spoke to my sister who has a 434- number and that worked. She lives in Avenue Fontainbleu
 
I'm also in Sea Point - line is down 021 433 xxxx number.
 
Has anyone heard anything about this issue? My line is now also not syncing - curious to see if others are experiencing the same?
 
Yep, ADSL is not syncing my side either..being a public holiday, giving some latitude....but tomorrow I am on their case.

Good luck with that. I'm in Pretoria North. Haven't had dsl or normal telephone for about 3 weeks now. Maybe 4.

"Network outage" and telkom's techies are aware of it- I'd rather they actually do something about it. But ya. That's Telscum for you... :mad:
 
I'm on a 433 number, in Sea Point & the phone works fine...yet I'm not able to sync to the exchange neither to the ISP.

Anyone has an update from Telkom?
 
Update: Well guys,there was no real movement ,as Telkom was not aware that one of their Sea Point exchanges were down...YEP...WTF! Previous helpdesk guy was bull****ting me...he just logged a single number issue...for syncing issue. I am still amazed that Telkom can not pick up when a DSLAMs traffic just dies.....Is there anyone on here,that can assist...?
 
*sigh* - I wonder how long its gonna take them to fix this - going on 30 hours now. I work from home so this is costing me a fortune in 3G :(

Have you raised it to them directly? Should I bother too considering that it's the exchange & not my own line?
 
Yep, I reported a fault when it happened I think the more people who report it the better
 
Yep,have to agree the more the better...CellC is loving me at the moment!

I just contacted the fault center again - according to the person I spoke to Sea Point is 'online' and there is no known bulk fault. Who are you speaking to over there?

As I understand there are two exchanges servicing Sea Point and surrounds....when they try to check ur affected line, they will get an error from the exchange...the call centre is rather limited in their understanding of their own network....frustrating MUCH!

Sea Point is a major exchange in Cape Town and will have several DSLAMs.

Report your ADSL service faulty and request a port reset. Keep the fault ref number that they must give you so that you can escalate it if the reset fails.

Yep got one earlier today...same story...retested,and is working....but ADSL is dead! Most annoying!
