Full SEACOM construction complete, but Egypt problems continue

SEACOM today said that they are making good progress on their own connectivity to Europe, but would not discuss problems related to getting through Egypt

Who would they be negotiating with? Last I checked there was not clear cut government in Egypt.

If I remember correctly all the SEACOM failures, excluding the failed repeater that took almost a month to repair, were due to the SMW4 cable? When this cable is complete is it safe to assume that the chances of downtime would be less?

Apparently there's going to be a ~1 hour long Seacom outage between 12am and 3am tonight (well, tomorrow morning). Just letting everyone know before people rage xD
