SEACOM downtime strikes again

Luckily we are getting to a point where an international cable brake becomes as disruptive as a line brake in koekenaap for the rest of us.

its one of those "AH HA" moments when u realize its not your fault ;)

Time for the ISP's to invest in redunancy from WACS!

:)I don't know about anyone else but yesterday and today my Bitcomet has been downloading faster than at weekends 80 - 110 kB/s. I am in PE and have a Telkom 512 or 1 Mb line and Mweb Uncapped. very Happy chappie.:)

I am really disappointed in Seacom, I believe you need to be fair on a cable operator, but this is getting ridiculous. They have obviously made poor decisions on where to run their cable and on the redundancy which leads it to be fairly unreliable. How many outages have there been on EASSy in the same period considering they both run on a similar path?

I feel sorry for the ISPs who have to reassess their backup options to be able to provide proper SLAs to customers as Seacom has a scarily high % of downtime.
