SEACOM is here!

Let me be the first to congratulate SEACOM CEO Brian Herlihy and his team for overcoming all the obstacles along the way and getting SEACOM online at basically the same date which they announced from the start. This is certainly a breath of fresh air when comparing it to other international cable systems like EASSy.

It's a breath of fresh air when comparing it to any deadline made in SA's communications industry. Well done Seacom :)

Oh yeah! Now we can choose who will be screwing us at them end of the month, we might even choose our own flavor of excuse for the bad service delivered. Isnt SA great!?

Hope this is a sign of bigger and better things to come. SA must really leave the Dark Ages behind now. ;)

well done to seacom, big round of applause for making the deadline and doing it in fine style.

If only we reap some benefit of this cable.

Wake me when the headline reads "reduction of 50% or more on ADSL"

So Seacom arrived on my birthday. Just a shame I won't be getting any "presents" from them yet.

I really hope Neotel will offer faster speeds than 2.4Mbps now. :)

Well this heralds a new dawning of the Internet age in SA.
Very much like when we got dialup Internet access(back in the days when I had to dialup Port Elizabeth from George, then local numbers),
ADSL Broadband and now Seacom, whats next ADSL2+ , LLU
Seacom well done on job well done in record time, we look forward to the new connectivity, lets see which ISP launches a new ADSL over Seacom Fiber package and enjoy an alternative routing.
1) Local only
2) SAT3 fiber
3) Seacom fiber Hmm I wonder if Gatecrashers solution will work with 3 PPPoE accounts.

Wonder if any one of the Invitees will do a Speedtest to a UK server, traceroutes etc

I want to see pricing improvements now! :) Good job on sticking to the schedule though.
