Seagate 7200.11 failure

What temps are you running at?
Mine are all inbetween 40° and 45° with a 120mm fan on 3 of them and a Vantec VTX on the Raptor - yet it still sounds like an anvil in gravel when writing or reading from the drive.

That seems a bit hot. My 3 HDDs run between 28'C and 35'C with 1 x 80mm fan blowing at them from the front of the case. Case is a relatively cheap Chenbro Gaming Bomb.

Not sure about Raptor average temps though.

That's real cool compared to mine. Are you in a air conned room?

Mine are all 25-30 degrees with 1 96mm fan blowing on all 3. No aircon by me...

The article I had a look at stated that OEM drives will be dropping to 3 years while the normal retail ones will still have 5 years.

Rectron just dropped Seagate warranty to 3 years limited warranty (for the customers' benefit).

How do we benefit from this again?

"Enhance the business proposition for channel customers".
"Make the warranty program more attactive, and provide more value to you and your customers".

What's the bet prices won't drop?
