They are definitely good, but the problem is finding a supplier/shop in SA that sells them...

The way PSU's work is that there is only x amount of OEM manufacturers and then everybody else repackage them. Now Seasonic is the manufacturer of 90% of the Corsair PSU
so yeh they are damn good.The Seasonic PSU's are fairly easily available now.
All reviews appear to be awesome... I was getting them mixed up with Huntkey in my head, so was about to tell you to avoid them like the plague:

question is; I now have a choice between a Corsair VX550 (which I think everyone on MYBB knows about) and the Sea Sonic S12II-620
Which one should I go for? and if anyone could find the actual specs of the Sea sonic that would be great, most reviews are only on the modular version (M12II-620).

As far as I'm concerned Seasonic is the best PSU manufacturer out there. Used to think Enermax was the best but lately they've got nothing on Seasonic. Not only are Seasonic PSUs well priced, they are efficient and reliable.
Many places sell them, Cyberdyne systems also import them, although their prices of late are crazy (Cyberdyne). Pretty much all Corsair PSUs are rebadged Seasonic PSUs and naturally perform flawlessly and come in at very good prices.

Personally my dealings with Cyberdyne have been much better than Sybaritic, especially where after sales are concerned. Faulty products are swapped out right there whereas Sybaritic I've had to go to great lengths to get a product swapped out. Cyberdyne is located in Johannesburg tho and their shipping options leave much to be desired (except in Jhb where their shipping is free).Both are Seasonic, go for whichever fits your needs.

My experience with sybaritic has been good though I've never had anything gone wrong...
the VX550 I'm buying from someone so I wont have to worry about shipping and the like
Guess I'll go for the Corsair... slightly reluctant since it delivers less power (I'm guessing both are underrated)
buuut... CORSAIR IT IS!

According to hardwaresecrets the VX450 is good for around 570W, so chance are the 550 will be somewhat underated too.

Great PSU, will run any single card setup. And it's quieter than the VX450.
That is the whole problem. It has been covered in this forum many times. Pre-sales Sybaritic and after sales Sybaritic may as well be 2 completely different businesses although the owner promised to deliver. I wouldn't advice AGAINST buying there, but if something can be had for nearly the same price at another store, I'd probably buy it from the other store instead.

okay cool but should I rather pay for a R726 VX450 at prophecy or get a second hand VX550 for R820

The VX550 is quieter at load. It also has a 6+2 pin, as well as the 6-pin, so it can support bigger graphics cards without the need for converter power cables.

I've recently advised many people to go for the CoolerMaster GX-550W PSU, since its cheaper than the similar Corsair products.
