Just a question...does anyone actually have any secondary professions? :p Can't see the point in them, although I have First aid which I use, but cooking and fishing? lol

In today's uncertain climate and with BEE it pays to have at least one hobby that can become a money earner.

if it comes to survival, sure. I can hunt / fish / cook / etc.

In terms of making more money, sure it always helps, especially with today's high insurance / medical aid / housing fees. I have a sideline business buying & selling mining equipment

lol

back to topic ;p

i lost out on fishing and cooking in the early parts of the game... i dont think i cld handle leveling another skill to 300... youd have to be unemployed to do it successfully ;p

I have Firstaid, Fishing and Cooking.
Along with my two main professions aswell.

Firstaid is useless if you play a healer class and a waste of good cloth and g.And fishing and cooking is useless if your a mage.

I disagree.
I have firstaid on my pally.
And i often use it instead of healing myself because then i save mana.
Mana = Damage
Secondly im not a mage so cooking will work well for me.....it will save me cloth and G because i will use less bandages.
Plus some of the things you can ccok at high lvl gives hude buffs.

First aid helps every class, wat do u do when u go oom in a fight? run away, or cc/stun and bandage, my lvl 20 priest has heavy silk bandages, they rly help when oom :)

my main has fishin 210 i think... cant b bothered to lvl that, only point of fishing is either the Golden Vendorfish/getting 375 for Lurker

Well we can see you are not raiding.

I am a holy priest and I ALWAYS carry bandages. Cuz when one of the guys has taken 1k dmg and needs to be topped up after the fite I bandage cuz it reduces down time and saves mana.

And cooking and fishing is just as cool since you cook food that gives well fed buff. Like golden darters that if cooked gives +44 to healing and +20 spirit. And those things cost 50g for 10 on AH.
There is well fed buffs for spell dmg ,str, agility and stamina.....no mage is conjuring that.

i just have 1st aid as my secondry profession.
Character is a Warrior . save me having to use any pots after i been running around.. Doing quests or raiding.. and helps save mana for the healers...

got my first aid skill maxed

From a raiding POV:

First AID: NO and I mean NO respectable guild will recruit a player without maxed first aid. Firstly it shows complete lazyness and secondly there are often times while raiding that you may need to bandage. For example you get yourself chucked out of healer range on archimonde.

Cooking: This is not something that you have to have but it is a lot cheaper than buying food off AH. Food is essential when raiding for buffs. However you can always get a friend to cook for you even if it is a hassle.

Fishing: Once again much like cooking you can buy your way out of this one. Although many high end guilds will insist that Tanks/Healers have max fishing since most of the tanking/healing food is fished and relying on AH supply is not good enough.

With regards to cooking, i go grind warp stalkers/ravagers, and let the guild chefs, do all the work :p

Why not buzzard meat as well ??? :D
Any raiding hunter should'nt leave home without loads of cooked :
Warpstalker meat / ravager meat
Buzzard meat
Scrolls (agility / strength)

Cooking FTW... I make around 100 / 150 gold in two hours with cooking and fishing in terokar forest.

1st aid is a must
Cooking is good cause u can make buff food, Which is the one consumable u should always have ina raid
Fishing is needed to fish the lurker in SSC
so not one is useless,
(a Healer without 1st aid cause he can heal ,is liek wtf l2p)
sry but thats just noob

A priest without First Aid has never played BG's.

I have a lvl 25 Priest with 375 FA

When ur out of mana - Shield, Bandage then drink once ur out of range of battle. a Priest needs bandages just like everyone else. Also helps in instances and ur oom. Just bandage where u can, helps alot on the DPS side if they don't get hit you can do a full heal without using mana
