Sedan - 200k-250k?

My recommendation would be the Honda Civic.

For sure, I bought one a year ago and cannot be happier. 1.8 vtec is indestructable, automatic, cruise control, leather seats. Great service from Honda Menlyn. Car went out of service plan and did the expensive 105 000km service, cost me R4800, including wheel allignment, balancing, fix two chips in windscreen. On highway with cruise control set at 128km/h get 6.2l/100km with whole family + luggage. Good car this Honda civic.

If you're looking for something that will last 10 years go with Honda. Toyota also not a bad choice - good resale value, although their cars are ugly these days. My wife drives a Yaris sedan that is 7 years old. Never had a single problem in all that time. Maintenance is pretty cheap.

Consider second hand, a 1 or 2 year old model is going to be a lot cheaper. Have it looked over by a good mechanic before you buy.
