Is there a place in stellenbosch where i can get classes ... ? Maybe Karate ninjitsu kick boxing or something?

Karate ninjitsu kick boxing. Sjo...
That sounds hard core. Karate won't really help for self defense in my opinion.
What about Brazilian Jujitsu? Or Krav Maga. Or even Kung fu if you're prepared to be dedicated.

I never go there!! Hmmm I dont mind il take on anything...

MMA FTW

its a combination of mainly Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu jitsu but also incorporates judo, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling etc

Problem with MMA is that some places teach it strictly as a sport with rules. Thus it doesn't adequately prepare students for real life dirty street fighting. Even worse, it makes them believe it does when it doesn't. Grappling is not so effective when your opponent bites your arm or gouges your eyes.

+1

That is where Krav Maga is so effective. There are no rules. It is survival of the toughest.
Get and watch that episode of Fight Quest. You will get serious respect for the Israeli soldiers. Even for poor Jimmy.

Aim for nuts and kick as hard as you can! Now run as fast as you can!

Krav Maga FTW!

+1 :cool I've been looking for a place that teaches it:)

Indeed, Had a friend who was taking lessons - after 6 months still hadn't been taught to deal with opponents that had weapons :/ fail IMO

WING CHUN - www.kungfu.co.za - contact Alex Hart - he is my old Kung Fu instructor and an all round awesome guy. I still miss the classes (I had to move back to CPT so I couldn't continue training under him).

I've trained on and off for the last 5 odd years and that was still one of my best teachers.

He teaches at the Scout Hall at onder pappagaaiberg.
Regards,
J

Try and break into my house - best practice you'll ever get, come on, it's close by - bring diapers.

(kom wolf, ons kry gaste vanaand 'WOOF', gaan rig die trap)

Only kidding, if you find a kickboxing setup, let us know.
