Self-Rica'd MTN Sim "No mobile network"

Hi, all

I hope someone can help me. I recently bought an MTN sim card via an online retailer. I self-RICA'd it and it was successful. But I keep getting an error like "Mobile network not available". I'm unable to visit an MTN store due to transport difficulties. I tried inserting the SIM card in two different phones, same problem persists. I bought ten different SIM cards, tried about four thus far, none of them will work. What could be the problem?

do a full resett on your phone with the new sim in and it should download all the right settings and work from there .the ussd codes dont allways work right .make sure you restart the phone with the new sim in it .

My sim card stopped working a few days ago - it was used purely for data only. After querying with MTN support on Twitter, it turns out they disconnected the card because the DATA sim was not used to make any calls within 90 days....in reality, it has never been used to make calls for 2.5 years, and suddenly now they disconnected it. It comes up with Mobile network not available.
If you have the phone number of the sim card, you could contact MTN support on twitter and ask them for assistance, they should be able to tell you what the issue is.
