Senior Technician / 2nd Line Technician looking for new work

Hi,
Im a Senior Technician at my firm (2nd Line), I have also been the Acting Infrastructure Team leader the last 6 months, Before working here I was a Project Team Leader for 3 years. i'm currently looking for a new or similar position,
Our company has failed to give any of us increase the last few years and with the E-tolls and increasing petrol prices its no longer financially feasible for me to stay here. Besides the financial side of things, i have an eagerness to learn new technologies and to advance in my career which will probably never happen at my current firm.
Im a 31 year old male, i live in Pretoria and work in Midrand, i'm Afrikaans but fully bilingual.

I have been Job hunting a few months and i simply cannot get anything, im not even getting a interview.
Maybe someone here can help me.

Here are what i currently do at my firm as a Second-line Engineer,
Create new users on AD
Create distribution groups
Create mailboxes and manage them on Exchange 2007/2010/2013
Managing file and folder access on the file servers
Setup and troubleshoot printers (every make you can think of)
Troubleshooting and installations on all software packages (OFFICE, SAP, Symantec, Kaspersky, in house programs, really a huge list if i have to name everything)
Creating SOP’s and manuals.
Doing roll-out projects
Creating new images (which i specialize in, have created over 40 images for my current firm, and countless ones for my previous firm)
Doing remote support
Creating batch files
Last few months we have been supporting SmartPhones and tablets as well.
Although i do not work with hardware, i consider myself a expert, i have been building pc’s since i was 11.

As Team leader, (I'm no longer acting as of 1st September, will only be doing 2nd line)
• I evaluate and approve / decline leave requests from team based on support requirements
• I evaluate and approve / decline overtime and standby requests
• Obtain feedback and progress for the Service Improvement plan Work with team members to identify where new and known fixes / solutions can be automated to reduce resolution times.
• Ensure that teams are sufficiently deployed across client bases to provide adequate SLA response and support function.
• Ensure that a constant presence is maintained throughout the day to provide optimal support.
• Identify, understand, and document service requirements of clients.
• Provide overall leadership, control and decision making and take responsibility for Technical support teams.
• Oversee response to and resolution of events, incidents, problems, and operational changes.
• Investigating Breached SLA’s and setting up plans to address the problem so that it does not happen again
• Rating employees KPI’s/KPA’s
• Creating and deploying enhancements
• Making sure all employees are upskilled and following their career development plans
• I’m on 24/7 standby to assist any of the current employees on shift.

Things im not currently doing, but do have limited experience with are the following
Linux
VMWare (also Microsfts Virtual Machine)
Novell
Columbus
SCCM
Very basic websites
Setting up ATM’s
Software auditing

My Qualifications are as follows.

Diploma in IT Engineering via CTI (yeah, i know)
HP Certified on workstations and laptops
ITIL V3 certified
MCITP : Enterprise Administrator
MCSA 2008
Certified MobileIron Administrator
Columbus Software release management

Im really very good in what i do, im a quick learner and normally the go to guy when everyone is out of solutions.

My preferable employment locations would be Pretoria, if i can get a position in Pretoria my CTC has to be at least 21k per month, this is +- Equal what i earn at the moment.
I would also work in Midrand and JHB, but my CTC will have to be higher to accommodate petrol and Etolls, which is my current problem, my CTC has to be at least 24k or 21k with a fully paid petrol card.
I’m not married and can work in any other location and willing to relocate if a good offer comes up.

If anyone can help, please PM me, it will be much appreciated.

Baie dankie

Two things to note which have helped me in the past (you may have already done this, just want to note them)
- CV should look awesome and be on PNET (I've had many cold-call job offers from PNET for the exact same line of work which I've had to turn down)
- Maybe talk to some recruitment companies?

Maybe time to spam your CV to the bigger corporates like DiData/IS and maybe someone like DataCentrix, have a whole bunch of friends who were on temp contracts with DCX and were eventually offered permanent jobs once their contracts had terminated.

Bump....
Still at the same company, still same pay....:(:crying:

Edit,
It does not even have to be in the field of IT, any other Junior OPS manager or Team leader position will do, the fundamentals are the same everywhere...

I have a position available in Melrose Arch that may be suited to you, I know you would prefer Pretoria but this is a really awesome company and there is no standby or overtime with the IT Department being available from 7am - 6pm there is flexi time. The gautrain, could be an option for you.

Here is the original avert, I'm submitting this week so if you want to chat about it please contact me today? angie@recruitmintlink.co.za

How does Bryanston sound - see here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/669897-Linux-System-Administrator-for-bidorbuy

Out of interest: Why haven't you left yet and have you attempted anything to change your current situation?

Hi,
Well besides for what I learned on Red Hat 11 years ago, I have absolutely no Linux experience.

I have not left yet because I have bills and a mortgage to pay, I need something else before I can resign here.
I have send my CV all over, I apply for every single position that comes up, I don't even land a interview. I went as far as to retype my entire CV which made absolutely no difference.
