Can you imagine? Sentech had a couple of years head start and seemingly bottomless pockets to build a national wireless Internet infrastructure. And despite this, it managed to cock it all up. Which is why Government must not get involved in what should be a private sector initiative.
Anyone know what credentials she has?
/me wonders when they actually stopped making a profit? Because there was a time that they were. lOL!and in 1997 moved to Sentech, becoming CEO in 2001.
Yep, until you experience the better internet, you don't think you need it. This country is deprived of true broadband, because everything is wireless, and nobody knows better. It's really pathetic.I've got a 4mbit ADSL line now... and by God is it fekking nice! And stable. With next-to-no latency. Why the hell didn't I do this years ago!![]()
I have the max speeds my package is capable of and its very consistent.
Lol! I remember my old Sentech days. Can tell you the same old horror stories and how it eventually died, before my 2 year contract expired.
In contrast, I've been living in Hong Kong for the last 2 years. An 8m dsl line with unlimited bandwidth costs me the equivalent of R120/month, oh, and I get around 20 NowTV channels with it.
To order the service took one phone call and 3 days later a guy came to install it. Can't tell you about their support, since I've never needed it - it just works.
Of course, then we have free wireless internet just about everywhere. I usually sit on the ferry to and from work and surf the net on my laptop.
Anyway, it was fun reading that Sentech still exists!
