If us not-so-powerful-bandwidth-hungry Classic users were unhappy with the package, we would've moved to Flexi ourselves. Fortunately most of us could do the maths and saw Flexi for the rip-off it was and still is. They left us out-of-contract users no choice...either move to Flexi or move on. No "You can stay on Classic, but you'll pay if exceeding the soft cap" as per the existing contract users, who will be faced with the same problem when they get to the end of their contracts.Sentech said:Sentech made the decision for the benefit of the broader base of Classic customers.
Everybody seems to forget the key reason for high bandwidth costs:
TELKOM
If Telkom had a decently priced ADSL product with decent support, there would not have been room for Sentech or iBurst in the market.
Erm. BULLSH!T Sentech. Web Africa: R70 per GIG = ~ R0.07 per meg.Users who are in a contract have the option to continue with their present contract, on the proviso that they keep under the soft limits of 10, 20 and 40GB for the standard, professional and premium products, respectively, but should they wish to exceed these limits, they can do so and pay 50c an additional megabyte thereafter.
This rate is the lowest out of a bundle of rates by any competitor that offers an option for users to purchase additional data per megabyte.
There is no other wireless broadband provider in the market offering an “eat all you can” service, because of the costs of running such a service. While some users may feel indignant because they are paying for their Classic product, they have to understand that the total Classic user base’s monthly subscriptions do not cover the costs of the bandwidth they are consuming.
...... At least they're dishonest in the first place, unlike sentech that APPEARS honest but then backstabs you like this, just cause it isn't working out for them!!
which was implemented supposedly to sort out the "bandwidth hogs" ?I dont think they want to mess up with the bandwidth prioritising software after going thru what they went through last year.
