Serbia trip tips

There we go, all place holders have been filled. Hopefully this thread can help someone who decides to make the trip in the future :)

Important question. How much is a bottle of wine and a beer?
One of their top restaurants

R40 a pint of beer

R280 a bottle of good wine.

In store that beer will be just over R10 and wine around R120-R150.

All I can tell you is they have great beer and wine and its cheaper than our already cheap beer and wine.

I am using this Restaurant as an absolute extreme to put prices into perspective.

From one of my earlier posts

"It's so cheap it's scary as previously mentioned we went for a three course meal at Michelin guide (non starred) restaurant with drinks and ended with local dessert wine and a 15% tip for less than Zar 1000." two ppl

Only a pleasure!

1. I think you could get a lot of the sites in three days but pick one city only then. Either Belgrade or Novi Sad and stay in the city only not surrounds more than enough to see and do. Likely Belgrade as this will give you a better "feel" for the country. More time is preferable though.

2. The reason we went to Serbia in the first place was for my wife's work. She did her annual congress here for three days (next year its Portugal - different European country every year) and we made the two week holiday around it. Would I go back? Definitely next time to the Western side if I get a chance.
Lol looking

okay I am thinking JHB - Istanbul - Serbia (Belgrade) - UK - JHB trip?
3 nights in Belgrade to get a taste of Serbia. I know it’s city vibe but I like that.

So her company pays a portion of the trip? Even if they just pay for her flights, and you have to pay for yourself, still a bargain.

Her company is her company :) It was a European college she belongs to that paid a portion of her trip. So she had to be there anyway so we just make the most of these trips so we can see more of the world and im more than happy to pay for my portion. As I said always a different European location with Portugal next year and then Hungary thereafter.

Sounds like a plan you have there!

Belgrade is big on their night life/clubs etc not my scene (the clubbing) so DYOR on that. Otherwise give me an idea of what you looking for and I can make some recommendations.
