Series Collection

You missing Season 3 of Luther ... and you call that a collection :D

Lol, thought someone would pick it up :)

I saw comments about Luther over the weekend only. Could only find it in Blu-Ray and it is still busy going. Hopefully season 3 will be done tonight....

Maybe also in 1080p WEB-DL

I DL over http - not torrents. Wasn't able to find any links.

Found only the 3rd season in in 1080p Web-DL quality. Season 1 & 2 Blu-Ray (about 8GB for 2 episodes as they are in one file).

Same here... Started to move the data around so that all the seasons of the various shows were together but I got bored. At least all the non fiction stuff is on its own 2TB drive.

I tried that for a while, ended up simply keeping current shows on one drive and completed / ended shows on another.

This brings me to a question- how do you guys archive your series? Split across multiple drives, compiled by name or genre?

I've simply got mine split between completed and currently showing, split across two hard drives. But I need to clean up quite a bit.

Well, as for mine, I have 5 3TB HDD for my series. Problem is, moving around does not help much. Some seasons are on disc 1, 2, 3 and 4. Some spand through all 5 discs.

The best way for me is to keep track on Excel what I have and where the seasons are located. If I need a specific show, at least I know on which disc(s) to find it.

This is pretty much my problem as well but with an extra drive or 3. :o But I do have a 2TB drive for the current series. When the season ends I grab a grab that has space on it and move it across.

When I have the patience (as I do have the time) to start moving them across drives, I will store them alphabetically and leave the one as "current".

Ah yes, forgot about that- I also have an Excel sheet that tracks currently archived and currently downloading shows.

I'm mooting just buying a 2TB drive, and putting all of my series onto it. Would be more than enough space for me (I don't collect that many shows), and would be more centralised. Splitting it really does my OCD-factor in :o

Yes, I mainly keep one 3TB drive inside my Mede8er, which I use to add all new shows or downloads on. If it is full, I start with a new one.

I always said that if I get the time, I want to try and put all series together on drives, but my problem is that if the drives become full and new seasons come up, I will have the same problem over again.

For now I think I am quite okay. I just want to figure out a way how I can link all 5 my 3TB drives together via some sort of server or something, and have it played through my Mede8er.....

My hdd with 1.5tb of series passed away suddenly in the night so my series collection looks like...

I try and make backups of my media but space is now killing me as you'd imagine. Now i no longer back up the 5Gb+ files to try and save space. I just cant afford to lose my entire collection due to drive failure

I'm about to start deleting stuff I wont watch or wont watch again.

There is stuff that i'll keep in case someone wants the complete series... but otherwise its got no real value.

How many of us do that - I have piles of series 'just in case a friend wants one of them'.

Perhaps it's time to just keep what I want to keep and if I don't have it for them , too bad.

I take it you don't stream Netflix at home? I used to download all my stuff before I started streaming. It was far easier to watch the stuff online than to download (Okay, truth be told I got lazy)

My plan is to set up a NAS storage system with 4 4TB hard drives and save all my stuff on to that. But that's the plan. For now I am streaming mostly.
