Series Collection

My Series collection is now up to 14 Terabytes. But I'm sure there are a few duplicates I need to weed out. :D

I'm about to start deleting stuff I wont watch or wont watch again.

There is stuff that i'll keep in case someone wants the complete series... but otherwise its got no real value.

I'm in the same boat. I can't justify spending money on additional drives for storing stuff someone might want in the future.

With so many new shows coming out all the time, the reality is most of the stuff I've watched I'll probably never watch again so there's no point in keeping it all.

You guys need more friends! :p Got people coming over all the time to grab stuff. Sharing is caring.

My collection is just under 2Tb at the moment. Mostly because I only download SD versions, and I do a spring clean every few months to delete series that I downloaded and would never watch again. Also clear out all the series where the show was cancelled after one season. I really should switch over to streaming, but like others here, I am often asked to copy series for family members.

I do note that most of the 'easy viewing' items that I enjoy like QI, Would I lie to you, etc are available on Youtube

Except for Firefly.

Yes. There are definitely the exceptions :)

There's a few series that I will revisit from time to time:
The IT Crowd (I have probably watched this about 6 times)
Friends
Big Bang Theory
How I Met Your Mother
Family Guy
South Park
That Mitchell and Webb Look

I had a few 2TB HDD's worth of series in the past, now only about 1.5 TB, the stuff I really like and still don't have time to watch.
The rest is backed up on the internet somewhere

Yo, what's it about Friends that makes me wanna watch it like once a year, start to finish?

Aha guilty Gary is not the innocent angel like we were always led to believe.

My list is too long to post in this e-peen contest. :p

Yes I am a hoarder and I probably need to start getting rid of some of the s.h.i.t.e ... Especially looking at hdd prices these days

Yes, I mainly keep one 3TB drive inside my Mede8er, which I use to add all new shows or downloads on. If it is full, I start with a new one.

I always said that if I get the time, I want to try and put all series together on drives, but my problem is that if the drives become full and new seasons come up, I will have the same problem over again.

For now I think I am quite okay. I just want to figure out a way how I can link all 5 my 3TB drives together via some sort of server or something, and have it played through my Mede8er.....

Although there is probably many similar solutions out there, the one server i can say has been performing admirably is called UnRaid ( linux software booted via USB) - It joins all the hard drives in a single network share, eg you never really care where the specific season of a show is stored.)
This together with parity protection to keep the "years of work" safe is what keeps me sleeping very soundly at night :D

The only show I can watch over and over again is "Better off Ted" why do they always cancel the good stuff....

Yoh..some people still living in the pre-Bandwith Revolution era. Do you guys also still have VHS tapes with shows taped from M-Net incase someone want to watch it again?
