To operate your business, you’ll need to comply with certain health and safety regulations. Certain businesses require only a business trading licence to operate, and some may need to comply with additional regulations.

A business licence is generally required for businesses that need to comply with health and safety regulations. You’ll have to apply for the licence if you want to start one of the following businesses:

Food provision

If your business sells or supplies meals or perishable food to eat on the premises or to take away, you’ll need a licence to do so.

Health and entertainment facilities

You need a licence for:

Turkish baths, saunas and health baths,
Massage or infra-red treatments,
Male and female escort agencies,
Three or more slot machines and electronic games,
Three or more snooker or billiard tables,
Nightclubs and bars, where live or loud music is played, and
Adult entertainment premises.

Now this begs the question. Isn't prostitution illegal in South Africa? Having unlawful carnal intercourse with clients for reward is prostitution correct? Escort agencies.. if anyone argues that a escort agency isn't involved with prostitution will need to have their brains checked.
I live in western cape. The area next to mine, I grew up in. I have for so many years not spent time in that area anymore until 2 years ago when things changed. Today I find that girls in that are are being used by the gangsters for the entertainment of assholes to put it lightly. The crap heads, pitch up late nights especially weekend, sunday nights. The girls are then all dollied up, they have to 'spend' money on these men... yes as incredible as it sounds, they do. It is a prostitution ring operating in Strandfontein. The girls are kept 'in debt'. They are threatened. Raped by a gang known as the 'Mongrels' who live on a broken down farm house right next to Strandfontein.
Anyways.. my questions are:
-Is prostition illegal in South Africa, if so.. then why licence escort agencies?
-How can I influence members of the community to stand up against what is taking place in the area?

Oops apologies for posting in incorrect forum area.
How does one move a thread?

An escort is not the same as a prostitute, legally.

Your moral outrage has nothing to do with the law unfortunately.

To be your date to dinner, a wedding, just for company is not illegal.
Nor is it illegal for you to admire dancing ladies/gents.

/shrug

The businesses can deny physical sex trade as it's probably an extra the ladies and gents offer as an added extra to those they believe will use the service offered. And its often not declined by the patrons.

You've been a member since 2010 and have posted 19 messages, two of which are in this thread.. This must've really upset you. Are you ok? Have you tried phoning up an escort agency, see if they can relieve some pressure for you.
