No you ponce ! Theres no service books for google talk coming to my handset that allows me to connect, even Vodacom tech helpdesk is puzzelled... I wanna find out if theres any other way to do this ?

@warwick apologies but i needed help from madman88 not sarcasim...

Hey guys,

I am having the same problem. I have a Torch, its basically brand new (I don't know what version my OS is) but I am on Vodacom Prepaid and I buy my BIS monthly for R59. Google Talk was already installed when I got the phone. When I try to log in it says "Service not enabled for this handheld".

I have googled extensively on the problem. I have tried reinstalling GTalk, I have tried getting the service books again, I've tried enabling application permissions. Either they don't work or I can't get the fixes right.
I've even tried connecting to a wifi network as one fix suggested and no luck.

Vodacom has not been able to help, and Google help sites refer me back to my SP.
I'm stuck and tired of struggling. It's been over a month since I got my Torch. I want my GTalk! Does anybody know of a fix that actually works? Anybody out there on Vodacom Prepaid BIS with a Torch that has working GTalk?

Thanks :)

It needs the service books for gtalk. Seems to be isolated to vodacom prepaid customers not getting all the service books when registering for bis.

Search my site, there is a step by step guide on how to enable it.

@Rodent-Boy - I'd never heard of Nimbuzz before now. I might try it later, depending on whether I can get my GTalk working. It just seems silly to have to download and install a seperate app because the built-in one doesn't work.

@w1tw0lf - I can't search your site without signing up so I'm having trouble finding the directions you're referring to. Could you give me a direct link please?

Thanks

Hi guys. Just some feedback. I couldn't get GTalk working so I gave Nimbuzz a try. It works just fine - I have my GTalk on there and I'm happy. That was all I really needed. My BB now does everything I could possibly want. Thanks for all the advice and help!
