Severe thunderstorms expected in Gauteng

Johannesburg - Gauteng can expect severe thunderstorms on Monday afternoon, the SA Weather Service warned.

"At the moment it's cloudy in Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo. There are storms... developing," forecaster Bransby Bulo told News24.

He said there was a 60% chance of thunder showers. "We also issued a watch of some storms becoming severe in Gauteng."

He said hail and strong winds were expected in the province.

Rain can be expected [over] the next three days in Gauteng, Free State, North West, Limpopo Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal.
