ASTRA OPC -

I absolutely LOVE this car and cannot wait for it to be released!! Looks stunning and will go like stink... 206KW is more than enough. Should be the new hot hatch king and I am seriously considering buying this beaut!! The only Opel I would trade my R in for

So's your face!

Sorry...my bad... had to be done.... was waiting for ages for the right moment ... your fault really ... :p

Anyway, I like it. Looks good. Don't think I'll buy one though - unless the interior beats the Germans for quality.

Really like this, just a pitty it will be OLD and crap by the time i could ever afford it :(

What do you mean?

I mean the other Germans....VW Golf specifically

EDIT: I always forget the Opel is German.

opel can likes to be german.

anyway that car, or even the gtc, will be my financial ruination. I am not sure I will be able to resist it :S

Residual value ? 72 months ? Yeah whatever, shut up and take my money, where do I sign ?

It looks like an Alfa now.
HAY??? Which Alfa comes to mind?

LIKE!

:D

Too bad that's about as far as it will ever move. No point having 206 kW if it lives on your driveway :D

Im interested to see how they put that power down.
I fear it will be another mazda 3 mps

If it's anything like previous Opels that i've owned, the power is just where you need it, and is available throughout most of the revs. Remember Mazda is Jap, they tend to put power delivery further up in the revs, and generally have higher revving motors. The Germans on the other hand put the power lower down, and while you still have power higher up, it doesnt quite have that kick that a Jap car will at 6000rpm...

What was wrong with the MPS's power? Never driven one, but do like them, so interested to know!

I highly doubt it. Will have a mechanical LSD, so should put the power down quite nicely

I think he's referring to torque steer and under steer, Opels are notorious for that. They didn't solve the problem with the previous OPC, and now they've gone and given the front wheels even more work to do. It's probably one of the main reasons why VW and Audi went with 4WD in the Golf R and S3. Unless I'm being a noob and the OPC is now 4WD.

Torque steers like a demon!! Same as the previous Astra OPC, so the LSD should keep the torque steer to a minimum..
