That's a new one. I've heard people saying it looks like a citroen/KIA/Hyundai/golf/younameit, but never an alfa.

Regardless though, seeing the Astra's interior doesn't make me want to hurl like the alfa's, so at least there is a pretty significant distinction.

I own a Opel Corsa Utility (been a proud owner for 3 years now) and I must say that I am very happy with the quality and build. Solid car/bakkie. That being said I dont think I will ever buy another opel again, their customer service is failing their (very decent) product.

Why do want.need to only make power at 6000/7000rpm?
What a waste imo.

Like all other Opels(minus the Calibra,TS&Superboss) does nothing for me...

Ah i see where you guys are going with that...

Well, i know Ford did alot of work on the '10 Focus RS that they brought out with somewhere around 300kw (correct me if im wrong) and they kept it FWD. Apparently the Torque steer on that was a DRASTIC improvement on the previous RS as they changed the way the wheels deliver power.

I would imagine that if this OPC is infact FWD, that they would not bring it out 2yrs after Ford got high KW on a FWD right, only for it to be problematic. But maybe it is problematic... Guess we will have to watch out for test drive feedback.

You really want to get back to this? Cos as far as i remember you didnt have alot to say after i replied to your little rant about that!

And as for the high end RPM on Jap cars, i didnt design the engines, but i'll try speak to them and change that for you:whistle:

I had a TS, and driven the previous OPC. Both had a bit of torque steer / understeer like Mike mentioned.
Im worried the extra power (which is quite a bit) might make it a little too exciting.

As for the mps, it never really put the power down properly, because it was always struggling to grip with the front wheels. for me it was a massively disappointing drive. Remember, the Jap cars yuo are mentioning are not usually turbo cars, whereas the MPS was

Definitely hear what you are saying there. You and Mike are right about the understeer, However, i am pretty confident Opel got it right with this OPC. I will be very disappointed if they didnt, cos all their competitors ARE starting to get it right. Ford Focus RS being my prime example. I have driven one and YES, there is still torque steer... How could there not be with all that power going to the front wheels, but WOW they have done a good job to keep it at bay!

The MPS has a LSD and software to limit Torque steer... it does torque steer a little but not like a demon unless you're coming from a 1.1L Fiat Panda then it'll feel like a demon

btw the MPS is Turbo charged so power is available from very low down in the rev range. Crazy power that is, its not a typical n/a high revving Jap motor

I'm not an Opel fan, but I like the OPC range. Even the new GTC is good.
 
What does OPC and GTC actually stand for?

OPC = Opel Performance Concept?
GTC = Gran Touring Concept?

I remember as a kid my dad and I always played a game where you had to name the cars as they drove past on long road trips and you got extra points if you could recite what the abbreviated letters after the model stood for... (Think it was his way of getting points up on me :p )

Opel Performance Concept lol, im pretty sure they can claim more than a performance concept by now.
Are you Afrikaans struggling to translate to English? Just asking coz your posts would make more sense to me then...
