Hi Peeps..

looking for some 2c here.

I have ladies in the office who wants to receive their own stream of highveld.

Now instead of abusing the cap , we want to stream 1 instance and share this over lan , so that they can use winamp to connect ..

only problem is - highveld uses windows media player /asx and winamp/shoutcasxt not liking this.

vlc can do video streams not sure about pure audio. Also how about a tv tuner with FM radio? Maybe get one and it could then stream to the rest, not sure if its possible though. Should work out better in the long run instead of using bandwidth.

windows media services, used that for many years to stream tv/audio from a tv/fm card. also worked well for streaming any other audio source. basically can stream any audio your computer will play, to windows media players on LAN. works well and easy and free

I had this going at my previous company, had KFM and 5FM streaming from a Radio card source. Much better than abusing cap, and can get far superior quality too. I used vlc to stream. But Windows Media services works well too.

hmmm...thanks for the suggestions

VLC works nicely - only 1 problem - when streaming on the host is active , the host doesn't get any audio out of the local vlc...almost as if vlc mutes the service ...normal windows sounds working.
