Sharks Supporters Thread

OK. Now I at least know what I am dealing with. You accused me of having nothing better to do than whinge about what's happening at the Sharks week after week..

That is called an observation. Here are just a few of your very recent posts:

Kiwis have to cheat and rely on refereeing bias to beat SA teams. Scumbags, all of them.

Beating a team that doesn't have a coach at the moment does nothing to distract me from the gaping wound that exists where inventiveness used to be in this team. I'll always be happy when the Sharks do well, but at the moment they really don't inspire me to write glowing things about them.

We were offered season tickets for free this year and turned them down. Why? Why go to the stadium in the first place? It's a PITA to find parking. The food is crap, the beer is expensive, the flasher girls are so 1995, you risk getting pulled over by cops and asked to blow into a bribe extraction device, the TV screen for replays is so old and only half of it works, the stadium sound is in disrepair, it's the same old corporate dick-swinging contest on the outer fields after the game with bespectacled accountants and their unruly kids running amuck...

Nah. Time for a new broom to sweep away all this ancient clutter.

Watched less than 10 minutes of this latest crapisode.

It is clear to me that the coaches are all out of ideas and are simply pitching up without anything resembling a game plan, especially in the backs. They gotta go now. This is the worst Sharks team I have seen since Reece-Edwards was in charge. Hang on....

I say they should be looking to Nick Mallett. He would be excellent at the Sharks.

Actually, it isn't about how well the Sharks are doing (or not doing). It's just a stupid format of a competition now. I really don't want to watch them playing the Bulls and other local teams 4 times in one season. Also, the last few games I watched were so boringly predictable it's actually become excruciating if you're looking for some kind of stimulation.

Super Rugby sucks. I am avoiding it from now on.

While Reece-Edwards and Strauli are cashing their paychecks they don't give a dump.

I actually don't think the forwards are playing that badly. It's not like they are losing the possession all that much (except when Du Plessis gets the ball).

It grieves me to say that the biggest problem this team has right now is in the back line. There is absolutely zero imagination there.

When the ball comes from the loose play the opposition know exactly what's going to happen next - the Shark with the ball is going to crash into the nearest tackler and recycle backwards. Or they are going to launch an up-and-under and try to regather. The running lines are so predictable that it has made it an ugly game to watch. If by some miracle a Shark breaks the first line of defence there is hardly ever anyone there to offload to because they're all trying to recover from the previous phase of crash-and-recycle.

Who's in charge of the backs? Hugh Reece-Edwards. What's his coaching pedigree? Oh yes, he came last in his first season of coaching at Super rugby level before that ass-hat Strauli took over. And who's the boss of the coaches? Yep. That same guy, Strauli. Go figure.

Coaching appears to be on hiatus this year.

I don't even agree with bringing Matfield back into the Boks or any other team. It doesn't make any sense.

Ugh, we don't need or want Victor Matfield in any form. Bloody Neanderthal... Anyway, News24 reports that he won't be playing for the Sharks.

This team will be great again. We just need to get rid of the prima-donnas and keep on blooding the youth by believing in them.

Absolutely. They deliberately get in the way of where the ball is supposed to come out of the ruck, often between scrummie and flyhalf.

Sean Fitzpatrick was the worst of them, and yet they revere him like he was a God.

Personally I will not subject my intelligence to ever watching a team from New Zealand playing rugby again. Don't care who the opposition is I just won't watch those scumbags cheat their way around the park.

I can't stand New Zealanders. It's like a whole nation of village idiots.

Yes, but the ref was still a døøs.

Bitch and moan after bitch and moan. Incessantly. That's not an ad hominem attack. It is called making an observation...

Maybe your obsession with my writings is the problem, seeing as you actually are obsessed enough to go back and re-quote stuff I wrote ages ago? What would you like me to write? Would it please you if I combed your hair for you? Maybe you'd like us to all sit around and sing Kumbaya?

What a douche....

If people are allowed to speak their minds freely, without unprovoked attacks from members who disagree with their views, there shouldn't be a problem.

I'm sorry if I don't view the world with rose tinted glasses all the time.

Ignoring the bottom part of your post.

Yep - the game should have been easy and I suppose the score line refelcted that in the end. But we also need to take into account that Force are pretty good at spoiling a good game of rugby and maybe the score line really reflects that the Sharks didn't allow the game to be spoilt that much.

I think that once we get past Lambie the backline isn't the greatest but that might just be confidence. New players, combinations and positions. But I don't think that we lack commitment. I think we miss Stephan more than we'd like to admit.

I don't have all the figures with me (or any :)) but to me it seems that the Sharks have picked up more bonus points than they usually do. Perhaps not as many wins as we'd like, but the games we've lost have been pretty close. BOCTMBOE

Really, either act like adults you two or bugger off from my thread, for real. We're supporters, we will always have differing opinions from the extreme to the rose tinted. At the end of the day, we still love the same team, so keep the maliciousness and trolling and whateverthefsck out this thread. Thank you.

Nobody attacked you ffs. Grow a pair.

I was merely pointing out that you don't seem to appreciate a single iota of the team and that it appears that every time you log on, you come straight in here to tell us all how schit the team and the staff are. It gets rather annoying...

Got to agree with DJ here. You (Pixual) and Memphisto's rantings regarding the Sharks borders on the insane at times. I chalk it down to being passionate about the game and your team and I'm exactly the same!! I've since learnt to temper my approach to all things regarding the oval shaped ball as getting too involved just sets one up for massive disappointment. Trying walking in a Lions supporters shoes!!

Add to that, that just about every result hinges on how the ref is going to blow the ruck/maul and breakdowns and watching rugby these days has become more an exercise in restraint and control rather than enjoyment...

Dismal state of affairs but that's what happens when things become over regulated. Perhaps that's why soccer has remained such a popular sport.

Really? This is a public forum and the last I heard was that RPM owned this site. Just because you started the thread does not mean you own it. FFS!

Anyway all those "supporters" of the Sharks, lay off your negative comments about the best team since ever. ;)

Let's bury the hatchet and move on. Pixual, I'm sure you're incredibly passionate which is why you believe you're posting rationally all of the time. Understand, it comes across very differently. I hardly spent any time picking those quotes up - they were all your most recent. It gets tedious because everyone involved in this thread already knows your dislike for the majority of the team and all of the coaching staff. I just find it annoying having to go over it each and every time this thread pops up. Try to see it from someone else's perspective without going off on a with-wings-rage...

Cool. Now back to rugby.

By what % would the sharks' winning chances drop if Lambie is out come Saturday?

Wow! I haven't seen that phrase being used since LancelotSA was banned.

Back to the thread. Isn't it about time you guys buy a couple of Cheetahs players again. I hear Sias is going at a bargain. :D

That's my final answer...

We really should have bought Johan Goosen...

I said what I said because I would rather not have the thread closed, durr ...... not because I 'own' the thread. Please buy some common sense. This is a rugby thread, not a personal attack/handbag area that can lead to thread closure ;)

He was never going to leave the Cheetahs before 2014 anyway. Spoke to him the other day about it.

Heyneke(before the Bok appointment) and the Bulls tried very hard to get him to Pretoria. Serious money involved if it happened.
