Shocking new e-toll rate: OUTA

“However, OUTA noted that the newly published tariffs make no mention of exemptions for public transportation.“
Taxi drivers will have something to say about this?

It smacks of desperation and the malicious nature of SANRAL and the Department of Transport.

Eish they really getting desperate now. I stand by my decision - NO eTAG

Two things in life I will not do, paying for a tv license and register for e-tag. They can go and fark themself

If taxis (and buses) are no longer exempt, I predict that there will be a taxi blockade on the N1 very soon.

Way to go SANRAL, continue making enemies, it's somewhat entertaining.

I hope they will make taxis pay.. we all know taxi's will gang up and destroy the gantries as soon as they charge them :D

First they have to get the bill to me so I can pay it...

I doubt the Post Office has the capacity - so that's going to happen.

Saw this morning they starting to hand out flyers all over the place.
They reminded me off the Sangoma`s flyers :p No thanks

I'd happily take it from them so that:

(1) I can tear it up in their presence; and

(2) they have one less piece of propaganda with which to harass the next ignorant road user.

Guys please. Lets unite and make the country a better place. Fact of the matter is that Sanral spent billions on the highways which you so happily drive on. That money has to come from somewhere. Toll fees are a form of direct tax. You pay for what you use. I hope to get my eTag soon and I will be making my contribution to a better and prosperous new South Africa.

Wait so you don't think the 60% tax on petrol is enough or the massive taxes on alcohool and cigi's? Not to mention our salary tax?

Come now don't be ignorant. They could easily pay for our roads if they never stuffed their pockets so much. We need less people like you in our country for it to thrive i reckon.

Have you seen the bad state of the "new" toll roads in the east rand? Bad surfacing and pool road markings and non working lighting for huge stretches? They sure as hell cant be expected to pay tolls for that. The R21 south is also all patches of scraped road waiting to be resurfaced

The on/offramps and such at PTA and around midrand are nice though except that the NEW robots at places like olifantsfontein are frequently out.

Drove from PTA to Gold reef city on Saturday.
Besides the traffic jams from them still fixing the roads the surface was horrible in many places, stripped of tar and pieces where you can't even change lanes unless you want to destroy your tyres.
