Should BEE be stepped up in SA?

It's been 20 years. BEE should be stepping down.

Hasn't the ANC done enough to screw economic growth up? But then, an election is in the offing...

Phone any large company and listen to the switchboard operator. That will answer the question......

Usually programs like this are restricted to empower a minority group, not a MAJORITY.

There are ethical concerns as well of course, simply having any form of racial profiling IS racism, and perpetuates a divide onto generations that deserve no part of it. You don't right a wrong by doing it back, you right it by stepping the **** up and setting an equal playing field. Unless that happens, BEE is the very legacy of apartheid it claims to be dismantling.

Job creation through racism. They made false and empty job promises and have instead gone backwards and now 20 years on want to "perform" by using the only card they have and the only card that got them where they are.
Zuma and anc are are racist!!!!!!

Our ladies at the front desk speak better Afrikaans than I do. So there are some exceptions :p

Look at the USA. They've been implementing BEE far longer than we have. The black population is trying to stop the implementation because it's affecting the population negatively.

Why go get a higher education when you can drop out of school into a high paying job? This directly undermines the value of education, and lessens the ability of the population to compete in markets where there is no BEE.

It creates racial tensions between races - not all white people are plush and happy in jobs. Some have been known to be turned down for jobs in favour of non-qualified, but ethnically correct candidates. This also creates a bad impression of the economy and the races that benefit from it.

In my humble opinion, Mugabe got it right - education is key. pour money into the foundations of the country instead of trying to fix it from the top down.

BEE the racist law that is classified as not racist by governments in the most "Anti-racist" time of the history of man.

Logic: none

We're going to put "Proudly NOT BEE-compliant" at the bottom of our company's website. It shows we have ethics. Anybody who participates in BEE or AA is guilty of being complicit in this racist scam.

BEE only helps the ANC cadres, no one else.

They bleeding the country dry - legalised theft by these scumbags.

And what has that go to do with the price of bread? A receptionist should present themselves well, have good manners and articulate well- most of the time in English as that's the language most business in SA is conducted - or am I wrong? Its got nothing to do with skin colour or language... its pure professionalism.

That's a bit like asking a patient would you like some more cancer?
