Using fireworks should only be permitted if the user has an explosives or similar relevant certification.

I was thinking of Halloween when I added appropriated.

I'm all for gratuitous explosions.
 
And just like that, nature decides to create its own light show and loud noises.

I take the opposite view, sighing "live and let live". And prepare for an increasingly fascist future.

Perhaps this is something a South African company can look at developing.

Most of the fireworks are cheap imports from China. They sometimes malfunction which causes injuries but often people are reckless as well.

Last i heard big bang fireworks where banned, how are they getting though customs?
 
Yes completely, we might think it's fun but all the animals hate it they get so stressed out, some get killed when fires break out due to fools, and their bang bang big flash WOWWW !!!o_O
 
What I am about to type if my own experience and what I am exposed too. ( Mini Rant)

I stay pretty close to a social government housing scheme area. All the flats are government subsided with backyard dwellers in virtually every corner of the housing area. There are some amazing hard working people that stay there but majority are unemployed, single parent, grandmother is taking care of the kids, drug addicts, copper thieves, alcoholics etc.

When Guy Fawkes comes around, it is complete chaos in the area. I don't know where the initiative came from but people are throwing each other with paint and nugget etc. Car's that drive past are also thrown with paint. The fireworks is also something to behold. It's the biggest and brightest fireworks that are on display.
I can see it clearly from my backyard which is a few km away.

What upsets me is that people in the area are literally blowing up their money.

It's like each house tries to outdo the next BUT money in these homes are low. People are struggling yet when it's Guy Fawkes, people loose their minds.

Come tomorrow, we going to hear about a child being hurt by Fireworks, an animal that ran away away scared or a house that was burnt down due to Fireworks. All these incidents will more than likely take place in these government housing schemes.

It's very sad.
 
NemisisGuy spoke of the fools hurting animals and starting fires, sadly this is true.
Also, they are sometimes too foolish to kill themselves, hence they ought to be allowed much more powerful fireworks at low prices to assist them in this area....it will also speed up the process of purifying the gene pool.

Fireworks are fun, but should not be used by children, or in built up areas especially around pets and animals.
So tired of the nanny state mentality.
Strict control of the sale should be enforced.
