Should I buy a chev sonic

I am currently a student driving a 2005 chev aveo and would like to sell it. I am thinking of buying my parents’ chev sonic 1.4 LS. It is a 2013 model with 55 000km on the clock. Before I would like to buy it, I would like to find out if anyone owns or has owned a chev sonic and what is your opinion on it. Did you have any problems with it? Thanks in advance
 
I sold my Sonic about a year ago, 2012 LS. Enjoyed the car but would recommend the hatch over the sedan. If you plan to keep it for another 50k it's a good drive. At the end of the day it comes down to how much your folks want for it.
 
Buddy one treated him pretty well, through remember chev has left the country so parts might be a problem.

Thanks. Yes it is the hatchback. If I buy it, I’ll probably drive it for the next 5 years. I know the car is well looked after and it has been serviced only by GM. I think they want between R80k -R90k for it which I think is reasonable considering the low mileage and great condition of the car.

Thanks. I am aware of the parts availability issue. I am still servicing my chev aveo at the chev dealership and some of the parts they need to order from korea (since it is actually a daewoo) and therefore the parts are expensive.

That seems about right but if push for a little less, never had an issue with parts as I got it serviced elsewhere as GM services were crazy expensive. It's a good little car, does the model have BT built in? Mine didn't, one of the main reasons I replaced it early.

I don't think you will get anything decent on the used car market for 80-90k.

Well not as new as that and your folks car is probably in better condition than anything you buy in that price bracket.

Buy it and figure out the parts+servicing later.
 
Great price, servicing should not be any worse than the Aveo for a long time, but resale might be a concern later on. But for now it's a great deal. I'd trade in my Aveo for a 2013 low km Sonic any day (have a 2012 Aveo with similar mileage).

Thanks. Yes it has built in Bluetooth and steering controls but no touch screen though

Thanks. Yes I drive a 2005 aveo with 220 000km. It’s a good little car but it’s getting a bit old now and some minor issues are starting to pop up.

I think that Sonic has the Opel (EcoTec) engine, so Goldwagen should be a good source for service parts.
