Due for an upgrade.

Currently got an iPhone 6S Plus.

Its causing me some headaches. Battery lasts about 4 hours. Keeps freezing and for some reason my speaker is very soft. Not speaker phone. When I put it to my ear.

Not sure if its worth getting an X or 8plus.

If I do, should I stick with Vodacom or move to MTN. Their deals look so much better and cheaper as well.

The only thing that bugs me is th 36 month period

I was a customer of vodacom for almost 2 decades. Chose a month to month contract from Telkom Mobile and invested the savings - I can pretty much get a handset every 18 months if needs be however usually replace the handset now every 2 years - still paying less. No regrets. My personal view on anything telecoms is that it’s madness to sign a contract.

If you are only considering Mtn as the alternative go to option, perhaps you should stay. Definitely wouldn't consider Cell C.

Telkom Mobile or bust

There is much better value to be found outside of VC

I ported from VC to Telkom Mobile early Jan. So far so good. And the pricing is MUCH better

Telkom. I've just come off a 2 year contract with them/ Granted it took them some time to put me on prepaid. It's much better value.

Why? I find them far better than VC. I always get good coms and data speeds, compared to the other networks available in the country.

Their billing issues isues, and useless website (try to find the cost of prepaid calls and data and the type of packages VS the VC website) and then there is their poor support.

Seconded.

So now you have been warned twice.

Why?

I can understand if you live in an area with bad reception, or you plan on getting a contract from them - their billing dept :/ Otherwise Prepaid + AH Mobile = win. I've been with MTN for years now.

Read the OP, they want to take a contract to get the phone, so I don't see prepaid as happening..

I have Voda as primary and mtn with AH data as secondary SIM, when my mtn sim got cut for not loading airtime i called the customer service line, only to find out that only contract holder can speak to a consultant, prepaid can only use the self service options. Pathetic service that. then there's the constant spam, how do you MTN subscribers deal.
