True, I could. Just a schlep to change sims but I guess you are right. Actually, I do have a TM sim. Will need to use the wife's old iPhone to test
from having moved between Telkom, Cell-C, Vodacom and MTN - multiple times, my conclusion is the grass is just greener on the other side because of the angle you're looking at... all of them have problems. That said, the least problems I experienced call wise especially with international roaming was Vodacom.

Just make sure it supports all the bands telkom uses to ensure you get an accurate reflection of their coverage.

Pretty good where I'm at, and where there is no native telkom signal it piggybacks on MTN so your signal at all times will be at least as good as MTN (although on MTN it is only 3G, no LTE)

Basically if you are outside of a Metro area, 3G is the best you can hope for anyway. And these areas generally only have MTN and VC towers.
