I think by now people know about the conflict between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria as a whole, but most importantly genocide in the North. Isn't it fair that Nigeria should split the North from the South so both Muslims and Christians can have their own country and perhaps live in peace without religious conflict? I'm afraid that the situation in the North is starting to look like Sudan two decades ago where genocide was happening but nobody thought it will get worse until 2 million died, then a split was the only solution. Politically they seem to have a compromise system, where candidates from each religion alternate as presidents, but isn't that a compromise of democracy?

Can anybody really say that North Nigeria won't turn into Sudan two decades from now?

Let the religious nut jobs exterminate each other. If your religion makes you behave like a savage them maybe we are better off without them.

That depends on who controls the oil.

Oil is a problem, and it's going to be a problem between North and South Sudan. I'm just tired of people fighting over religion.

yes, i'm sure all the innocent lives that get destroyed is worth it... good thinking guys...

We're saying religion is the cause of all the problems. That's all.

No religion - no conflict, but it isn't like that so I guess there isn't an easy solution.

It's clear that Islam and Christianity can't live together, so why can't they split the Nigeria so each religious people can live in peace without killing each other? They can share the proceeds from the oil reserves.

I really hope Nigeria doesn't split. That means my investments with the prince of nigeria and the dividends he promised I'd be paid out will be cut in half as well.

unfortunately most secessions only come after a war.

Let's try and be pro-active and divide Nigeria before war comes upon her, bcoz that's how things started in Sudan.

my opion is they are fighting over the oil and religion is only the excuse they give the rest of the world

Of course oil might be the conflicting issue, but when people are killed in churches and pastors threatened with death then you have to consider the fact that perhaps religion is the issue. And of course history tells us that whereever Islam and Christianity meets, then people lose their lives. It goes back to the crusades.
